Are Synthesis maps designed to disappoint?
First, about their availability, their rarity is brutal,
- full cleared twice with 200-300 scourge stacked 317x T14-T16 maps, - with allocated neutreal pathways uncharted passive, - dropped one (1) synthesis map. Then, about their functionality, their rewards are totally pointless, thanks to their design, - full random mods, cannot be controlled, cannot be juiced, - all are area level fixed on 80, - full random bases. Putting 50 of these into the EGG, instead of some acutal league stuff for instance, is insane.. Scourge's EGG is the first one even completely missing a task from the actual league at all instead.. Chained 11x sets +1 for 45, used all 6 uncharted points, dropped absolutely nothing of value back. Used 3-5 portals, 100% cleared all maps, looted each and every synthesized rare dropped. Without a lucky 'items drop x level higher' mod, all rares are basically useless i80-82 ones. And if we are at the rares, I dropped 1007 synthesized rares alltogether in 45 maps. Each and every one had only 1 implicit modifier, only invitations dropped a few 2 implicit rares. And 99% of these was the following: stun and block recovery, 5-20 life, 5-15 resist, 6-15 attributes. Who would start to seriously craft on an i80-82 rare base with these 1-implicit ones? Kept 3 of them all, but even these looks like vendor trash finally, being i80 and on bad bases. An explode axe, a reservation shield and a minimum endurance charge shield. Then boss's uniques are the definition of pure RNG with multi-layered RNG; base, explicits, implicits. Got 35 rings (together with the invitations), did not have even a good and desired explicit pair on any of them, not to mention any cool synchronizing implicit(s) on them; got 1 frostbite on a topaz. And the well-rolled fractured rares, just like in heist for me, - most of the fracture mods were tier 5+, - got 1x tier 1 (resist on a weapon), - got 3x tier 2 again irrelevant mods, - rest were low tier and irrelevant mods, - worst was a 'tier 4 reflect 1 physical damage to melee attackers' mod on a body armour, - and of course, we are still talking about iLevel 82 boss drops. With their availability, I already bought 5 for uncharted passives, dropped 1, now bought another 44. Bought them yesterday 75-82c each, this 44x maps costed ~24 exalted orbs. Got back absolutely nothing of value at the end. Could not even sustain their maven's invitation, dropped 4, bought the other 7.. Worst part, thanks to the iLevel limitation, heist has better chances for better synthesis bases.. Next to my failing "crafting" attempts, this was the biggest waste in a few hours I had in PoE (so far). All-time non-streamer luckless dropless rewardless tons-of-time-playing non-TFT-er 100% solo player. So, it just turns out, we were lied to for years with the promises of a two-storied one PoE 4.0. All these worse and worse beta leagues, all these braindead changes, all lead to this. Last bumped on Nov 21, 2021, 1:05:02 PM

earlier this league I considered doing the same you did as +1 frenzy shield/ring are fairly expensive. Thank god I didnt, if you got 1000 rares without a single one having +1 frenzy I cant imagine the weight of that mod.
