Look at Titan Quest on how to properly make auras.

Titan quest auras are garbage. new auras are fine. In fact why do we even need auras? I can see what aura i have from the top left aura bar. The auras before were terrible. I'm pretty sure before people used haste only as their way of coming out of the closet ...cuz let's be real.
WTF is up with all the hate about the new auras? The games art direction clearly aims to be dark and gritty like the original Diablo games. The old flashy auras were clearly over the top and far too big and colourful for the games aesthetics. The new ones fit far beter.

Anyway what would you rather be looking at? Lots of flashy shite or your next victim?

I personally like seeing what I am smashing in the face.
@SataricSquirrel and RaZmAn

Did both of you read the entire thread, because this thread has been quite supportive and filled with ideas ever since the 1st post.
@Ozgwald

Hehe obviously not, my bad. Anyway that was aimed at aura hating in general, not just this thread. I just happened to be reading this thread (badly) when I decided I was fed up with all of the moaning. :D

I absolutely agree. But why, then, do we still have the issue with water obfuscating enemy auras? (as well as the diminished vision for low life builds).

I would love to hear about any new thoughts or progress toward these issues, especially the water one since it affects every player.

(as an aside, there is also somewhat of a visual issue with shadows in certain zones/maps. i.e. in the arsenal map, the "indoor" areas are too dark with shadows enabled, making it hard to see crates and barrels. I play with shadows turned off to solve this, but I would prefer to enjoy shadow graphics).
Never underestimate what the mod community can do for PoE if you sell an offline client.
I think the auras look fine but I think purity needs some friends :P

Im thinking of determinatin and vitality.

I like auras that seem to fit both alone and together. The wrath/anger/hatred appearances look good in that regard. Haven't had the chance to try out the other auras yet. I don't mind a runey look. Dark fantasy doesn't necessarily mean not-magic..just not over-the-top-glowy-rainbow. It'd be awesome to see something more like sigils/runes (like the writing in the old auras), but understated and designed to look fine on their own, and compliment other auras as part of a stack.

Water obfuscates some of your own Aura's too. It seems to be mainly auras that sit flat on the ground that water obfuscates.
