i hate what poe is becoming

yes, i made an account solely for complaining so feel free to call me karen. i have my reasons for that and lets not get into it much. im here to give some hopefully constructive criticism. note that this is my viewpoint alone and very subjective, so it might differ from yours. i will also try to offer solutions pretty much the same way ggg did in those scourge posts. so lets start:

1) problem: the game is too complicated. now this doesnt really matter to anyone who has at least some experience with it, so even if you take a break of a few years, you can get into it relatively fast. but it is a big deterrent to a lot of the new players who simply dont want any of it.

solution: none. just dont complicate it even more. the good thing is that this alone isnt that big of an issue, but affects some things i will mention below.

2) problem: the game feels like a chore. poe playerbase on average is getting older. this is a direct consequence of problem #1. now most of us have jobs, and when we start poe, we dont want it to feel like another job. that is a massive deterrent to the core players. in your desperate attempts to hinder the top players, you fucked half of the players, while guys like empy still shit on your content and always will. you *CANNOT* stop the top players, so you might as well stop trying because your pathetic attempts resulted in 90% of the skill gems being completely useless, build diversity going to shit, and the game being unplayable without a guide. im getting oneshot while having 4k life/enfeeble/temp chains in white maps. yeah i dont have armor nor evasion. but in white maps, should i really need them? this is not fun whatsoever. chase content? i dont give a shit about chase content, i cant even do the lowest tiers of maps.

solution: stop trying to hinder players. you will fail no matter what you do and the only ones you will hinder are the ones who needed it the least. also i would recommend avoiding lying by omission, for example "buffing armor/evasion" will just make people angry when they realize that in reality, they die much more because you nerfed other defenses and buffed monster dmg.

3) problem: speaking of chores...the acts. now, im not sure you understand how big of a problem this is. this one is a deterrent both to new players (kills the enthusiasm for a new player, the starting content is SUPPOSED to be easy) and experienced ones (experienced meaning that we DID THOSE FUCKING ACTS 100 TIMES BY NOW and want to get it over with as fast as possible).

solution: hear out chris talk about his vision for poe...and then do the exact opposite. seriously, that should do. chris, your "vision" sounds like datura poisoning, sure it makes sense to you, but no one around you understands jack shit of what ur saying bro. no hard feelings, im just being honest. your vision is shit. if you want to add a hard mode, make it optional, dont make the whole league hard mode.

4) problem: too much rng. dont get me wrong, i get it. you want to make the players avg playtime longer so you cash in more $. im not sure anyone is buying that shit how "you want the items to feel unique". what you are doing is selling us a hegelian dialectic, you created a problem (armor needs to be variable to add more uniqueness!), and are now selling us a solution to the problem you yourself created (sacred orb). you remind me of that time when some guys in my neighborhood opened a security company and since no one wanted the services, they started breaking peoples windows at night so people got scared and paid for the security services.

solution: less random shit, more deterministic crafting.

5) problem: trade. no one likes your trade system. no one believes you are doing it for "player interaction". no one wants to spend more time on a trade app than in the game if his intention was to play that game. again, aging poe population makes this a bigger issue each league. time is getting more and more valuable, no one wants to spend it on something he/she doesnt enjoy.

solution: auction house. removes most of the price fixing and the need for external trade apps. im pretty sure most of the players agree on this, as they have nothing to lose by it and a lot to gain.

6) problem: censorship. now, i understand that you want to avoid political talk in the game. i dont agree with it, but i understand it. but ive seen people getting muted for something they said in the local chat, alone. ive been muted for reporting a scammer in the channel, for "naming and shaming".[Removed By Support] in order for people to "feel safe", you are restricting their freedom of speech, and consequentially, their enjoyment. if someone scams a rota, i will get pretty upset for getting muted after saying that he did in the channel. note that this also happens on the forums, post gets removed if you say you didnt like someones service.

solution: should be obvious, no?

bottom line: except problem #1, it all comes down to restricting peoples freedom in one way or the other. to me personally, this was enough to call it quits for this league and this direction of the game. to be fair, ggg isnt losing much by it because i never donated to ggg and never will. but i have other incentives in this game not going to shit so if you want to make it better, i think i gave some good suggestions! comments are welcome.
