Lets have a discussion about Bosses

Hi everyone.

Have you ever think about bossing in the game? Are they fair or not? I had some thoughts about it, both positive and negative. Lets start with a simple legend.

List of boss types:

-M as mandatory. By mandatory I meant all Map bosses. T1 to T16 + Conquerors.
-O as optional. That would be guardians, elders (eradicator etc.), Elder, Shaper, Synthesis, Maven and list go on. All bosses that are not required for progress.
-L as League bosses. All special guys that may not be accessible anymore(Trialmaster)
-S as Special. Well I didnt rly know where to put Sirus.

To the main point. I have played all kind of builds. Some better some crappy. From melee thru minions to archers.

I believe M bosses deal waaaaaaay to much damage per hp they posses. They should be reviewed. Some of them are worse than others. (Stagnation, Silos, Forking River list go on).
Why? They are mandatory for progression of atlas. You need them for atlas bonus, you need to run maps up to T16 to get currency and engage with league mechanics and on top of that they drop maps etc. They scale quickly into cosmos with mods, and we need to alch and vaal sometimes. Rerolling also tends to lead into problem of either over buffing offensively or over buffing defensively both cases are bad. I think they are remnant of old game design when we still didnt have so many O and L content.

Before someone says, get more def 4head. This part is still in progress at this stage of game. You should not suffer so much as we do now while we are making currency and gain level to get basic build foundations in place.
Regarding conquerors, they are generally fine, maybe except Baran and his shotgunning aoe projectiles that sometimes stack 3 of them in one place, that can easily kill fresh builds or even more advanced ones.

What about Optional bosses? To me they are all in good shape. They are hard, have lots of hp, can drop good stuff. They are here to test our builds. Maybe Maven memory game... come one its ARGP, after working 8 hours as Oracle Dev doing memory stuff is not what I expected. But as said. Optional so whatever.

Now Lets go to the L bosses. They are harder than Map bosses but easier than Optional ones. With some exception. Looking at Vorana and the bullet hell she spawns longer you fight. Trialmaster was also fine. One shotted him every time. Got lucky and understood his fight in first try. Scourge bossess also seems to be fine. I think its well executed in most cases.

Now lets go to our Special guest.

Sirus lol, another rant post about Sirus.
Dude according to poedb has 70 mln hp, resistant to everything. On top of that he heals in last phase. His effective hp is waay higher than 70 mln. However first phase is generally easy so idk. Feels like attrition battle between player and Sirius with player being the losing side (single mistakes are lethal). He moves a lot. Like a lot. Attack after attack, teleport out of the screen. Dps uptime on him is well low. Such is the boss design. But the funny thing about him and ALL bosses.

He has 5% chance to crit you. Crit on something that is already super deadly. His effective crit as I call it, is much higher. His one action has multihit mechanic.

Crit on bosses should be gone. Their baseline stats are already high. Lots of them scale tremendously with map mods. That random 5% chance to crit is bonkers. Dying is NOT FUN.

any mob can hit higher then any boss and rare mob have more life than all boss... balanced lol
