i dont know why that person goes on for 10 minutes explaining every permutation of these keystones when nobody cares, just cut to the fucking point

I care. He does that to explain WHY it works, which is a good thing. All you've done is cut out the explanation in favor of effectively saying A^2 + B^2 = C^2 - cos I say so! That isn't simplifying, it's skipping. It's the equivalent of a teacher who focuses on rote memorization instead of understanding.

I don't think his explanation is bad, rather it's comprehensive. The real issue is that the underlying mechanic itself is convoluted and unintuitive.

theres a bit of irony how you mention the pythagorean theorem

because 99.9% of people are not capable of producing the steps to prove it despite at one point in their lives they were indeed shown how its done

theres a reason why no one remembers this. the steps in-between are absolutely worthless unless youre specifically a mathematician. likewise the people watching this video dont give a flying fuck how each permutation of 2 keystones work and that goes especially when the interactions are subject to change at any time. the only thing people really care about is the input and output and if an explanation is really needed, touch on the important parts, not whatever this guy did

edit: and fyi its not like a^2 + b^2 = c^2 because "i said so", it's more like a^2 + b^2 = c^2 and heres a literal video gameplay footage showing it in action
