Elemental Overload + Shaper of Storms

So i was playtesting in standard if i could make a strombrand archmage non-crit shock build work in league...and it seems like i wasnt aware of something....
Is it impossible to trigger Elemental Overload if you skilled Shaper of Storm from the Elementalist? "40% more Elemental Damage if you've dealt a Crit in the past 8 seconds. Ailments never count as being from Critical Strikes" "Your Hits always Shock" Since i am always shocking my hits will never count as an critical hit, which means i can not trigger elemental overload"? Shock can be applied by crits or by "chance to shock" on gear/passives

nevermind, it seems there is no longer an "aura icon" on the top left but instead a small icon at the skillbar.

Yes, Elemental Overload was changed in 3.16. It works only on skill which you crit with. That's why icon is on the skill and not on character.
