steam.exe reading all .ogg files after each patch

I have noticed that after each Steam patch Windows antivirus MsMpEng.exe reads all .ogg files. So I have set the Audio folder to be excluded from scans.
Turns out it was steam.exe that reads all the .ogg files. Anyone has any idea why this is happening and how to prevent it? I guess it's either 1 or 48,000. Nothing in between, right? Last bumped on Feb 5, 2022, 5:34:49 AM

Same thing after installing an update today.
At least now I know that restarting the Steam client helps. I guess it's either 1 or 48,000. Nothing in between, right?

" Click Steam in top left Settings Music Untick the "scan Steam folders for Soundtracks" I think it searches recursively through folders with no way to exclude anything individually so you've just gotta exclude everything. Thank you for the tip. However Steam still does the scan even though I unticked it.
I have even turned on logging of the scan activity and it starts right after the update. I guess it's either 1 or 48,000. Nothing in between, right?

Seems like Steam doesn't scan the soundtracks anymore since the 3.17 update. So thanks for that.
