Could anyone explain why the combination of Poisonous Concoction + Fury Valve does not work ?

Poisonous Concoction projectiles don't interact with enemies themselves so they aren't able to split (or chain, fork, or pierce).

same goes for other ground targeting projectiles like blast rain or rain of arrows

" i do not understand why chain does work if it does not interact with enemies. when i hover over chain it shows a checkmark with PC. is this because it lowers the damage of the projectiles i use? if that's the case they should change the compatibility with chain support since nobody will ever use it to lower their damage. this checkmark signifying compatibility should be removed if this is the case in my opinion. " Of course you have the check. Support projectile skills, and any other skill that chain And both the Concoction skills have a "Projectile" tag, so they are eligible. Chain does support Explosive/Poisonous concoction as in they give them the Less damage part. The +2 chain do not apply since, as other stated, projectiles from this skill do not interact with enemies and are consumed as they hit the ground. It's not dissimiliar to the infamous "Concentrated Effect vs Ball Lightning", in the fact that both those combinations are examples of support that provides a net disadvantage on the main skill for nothing in return. An exception for the "chain does not support projectiles that only interact with ground" is Magma Orb, which has both a Chain tag and a specific wording that explains what happens when adding chains to that skill. In that case both the Less damage and +x Chain from the support will of course apply On a side-related note, I don't know what happens when using a "x% chance for Projectiles to chain when they collide with environment", though I'd expect "environment" means only natural walls and only apply to arrows, wand shots and other "physical" projectiles |
