game options to silence npc...

one of the most annoying things so far is the Envoy. beyond all the gameplay issues and bugs. it would be nice to just hear things going on in the game without have to hear the Envoy tell the useless stories. a couple of words, i can deal with like all the other NPCs that speak when you get near them. i actually dread killing monsters and accidentally getting too close to him. i will even skip entire sections of a map to avoid hearing him.

could we please get a way to silence individual NPCs?

or even a way to add them to a filter to shut them up would be great.
poe is going down fast. Diablo 4 and Baldur's Gate 3 have no performance issues. play them instead

You do know there is a dialogue volume button in the settings right? It mutes all in-game, including NPC's dialogues...

yes, i do. but it's only the Envoy that i have an issue with. the rest are fine.

so i have to silence the entire game for 1 thing?

i mean, they really shouldn't even speak until their dialog gets triggered by clicking on them

The Envoy works exactly the opposite.

When you see him on your minimap, you quickly zoom to him and click on him. That will trigger his greetings and interrupt his monologue.
The Envoy sure is annoying after the first four times hearing him, but his bs is still music compared to einhar. There should be an option to silence einhar and keep all the other npcs audiable, or just a way to stop him from appearing at all.

that is what i do. but, in many cases, i'm dealing with mobs and am forced to listen to the useless banter until i can finally click on him to shut him up. why does GGG THINK people want this in a game?

+1 to being able to silence a particular NPC.

No, I don't care that we do this for muh freedum.

No, I don't need to you say greetings to me over and over again because I need to shove a bunch of vendor recipes your way. And stop calling me savior - you were safely in a tree when I showed up and you could have snuck back out when the mutated boyfriend monster was no paying attention!

Try the new league NPC.

You can Ctrl+click her for instant vendor screen and as a parting gift she whispers stuff like "pointless" or "too late". Damn i dig that negativity of hers xD

If she stays, Thane gets evicted for sure.

the main reason for this recommendation is the fact that GGG expects most players to never even progress into yellow maps, that means they will never get to endgame bossing like Maven. so why are we forced to listen to the annoying Envoy babble needlessly with his monologue when we will never get to Maven?

that being said, why would a company ever even make a product and make a statement that they expect most players to never be able to progress towards the end content. that is like a car dealership selling you a car that looks really nice but you have to push it because you can't have the key to actually start and drive it. and they think you will be happy with that and expect it as well.

Einhaer is 100x more annoying imo
