Help with Rage Vortex

Im finding that Rage Vortex is incredibly clunky to use and aim., You aim it at a pack of mobs, it flies right by them. You aim it at a boss, he moves away.

How do you use this efficiently? Also, do you just cast one, wait 4 seconds until it disappears and then cast another? I know that only one can be active at a time, but I am finding that fights and encounters are taking a stupid long time vs when I spam it on elites and bosses.

Any tips on using this would be great...I POB'd it before launch, it looked good on paper. Began using it and its pretty slow and im beginning to regret it at as a league start.

I only played it a bit last league, but I can tell u that it's pretty lacking during leveling.

It really picks up once u're in maps and have ur build coming together. U usually r trying to build up a bigger rage vortex with alot of rage and then cast it once. The damage scales well enough that u can kill map bosses in one vortex and the AoE get big enough for maps aswell... although very open maps still feel a bit worse then tight corridors. Keep in mind I only played it up until yellow maps, so it might change later on.

/e: for leveling I suggest using another skill to build up rage and only occasionally using rage vortex when u got enough rage.

How much rage did you find adequate to be clearing maps and killing bosses effectively?

mh hard to say. I used which brought me to max rage pretty consistently. (70 I think)

I think I felt the dmg drop when I was below 30 rage.
