Trap/Mine Early Game - GUTTED

Taking a look at the new tree, trappers/miners are going to have an absolute brutal early game.

7 passive points before we hit our first passive (throwing speed)
Then we get a notable

We get area of effect pretty easy after that, then nothing.

7 passive points to go down before we hit more trap/mine skills
OR
5 passive points to go across

All through defensive passives/stat boosts.

We might hit level 30-40 with only 2 trap/mine notables and a ton of defensive/stat passives.

We lose 50% damage right off the top of early leveling through the changes of the early passive tree. We have to path through a ton of defense and stats for our good stuff. End-game doesn't look bad, but Holy Toucan is DPS going to be low in acts.

So you level as anything else and switch to traps ?

I don't think leveling matters that much as long as the scaling is done well.

So now traps/mines are a high-end build that require massive Regret investment at end-game to spec into?

Sounds absolutely horrible and an easy way to destroy very popular league starters.
For first 60 levels you are carried by gear and gems levels. Passives dont matter that much.

A massive regret investment? Nope.
Is it weaker? Yep.

After being the highest damage archetype in any stage of the game from early til ultra late game for half a decade - not a bad idea!

Where are you getting that idea from? Sabs have almost never been highest on DPS. You can check poe.ninja and see that there's not a single one in the top rankings. It's been that way every league. Traps/mines are a solid build and a solid leveler, at least until now.

For last like 7 or 8 years they were first to kill end game bosses, every single league.

Sure, because Poe.ninja is exceptionally good to determine dps from totems, mines and everything that is not one-hit crit related, right?

In Harvest I had with traps something around a 180mio dps and a 550mio burst/ nuke damage. With Traps. Time for a reality check for you my friend. KMS is right. The builds around traps and mines are in a perfect place right now and this nerf to leveling is totally fair as you literally took it on ANY BUILD outperforming everything else. Why do you think that speedracer like Tyty leveled 5+ acts on stormblast mine with every witch and shadow build?
