Use Skill Points for Cluster Jewels or Mastery?

What is everyone thinking so far in regards to new mastery points? Will cluster jewels still be the best options for extra points or mastery?

Mix of both?

As far as I can tell GGG isn't really going to be buffing any weaker skills anymore this league so not getting my hopes up over the new masteries just yet.

I am very excited for the Masteries.

Since they're moving specialties like Holy Conquest into masteries, I wonder if the clusters will be worth anything at all.

never liked clusters or their aquisition, especially in SSF, so I'm happy to put my points into masteries :)

Cluster Jewels have been min-max end game for the most part and dependant upon drops, market etc. Skill points will also be min-maxd too but the Masteries are more accessible just by lvls etc. So I will play with the new toys and see how it goes, pretty much like any league that had cluster jewels anyways. Unless some are totally "broken" but the same would be true of Masteries.

Also dont forget its not just a case of C.Jewels vs *Masteries. Gear can also affect both choices and there are some very errrrm interesting combo possibilities next league.

SSF play and the Clusters never got along all that well.

Both. You can now find most of things you need without having to travel far.

Before mastery, you had to go all over the tree to get all nodes for one mechanic. Now you just beeline to a mastery, and get everything you need within.

Same with cluster jewels. But that is more dependent on drops, so it's more late game specialization. Which is fine, because you can specialize in masteries in the early game.

I play SSF and have yet to figure out what cluster jewels are.

It's like the game knows my build and all the builds I want to play and purposely doesn't drop anything for it. But will in fact drop it first thing the following league as a big middle finger.



As far as your question goes, we don't have the info yet.. I'm sure each mastery will probably have 1 or 2 great options then some middle of the ground ones that you may not take.
