How dead are Aegis zDPS tanks?

Just had a look at the patch notes and they decided against compensating gladiators for the loss of spell block.
I am one of the old dinosaurs that still enjoyed playing zDPS aegis tanks to this day. Now going down to 50/50 block on these is completely out of the question, that will just result in dying non stop. I had hoped Gladiator could at least get lucky block so there's effectively at least 75/75 again. Give me some hope there's new ways to increase max block and spell block drastically. As dead as build can be in speed meta. If you dont mind getting no drops from timed mechanics (that we have A LOT now) you can still play it.

" I am actively playing since 2010, I am fully aware of how much I am shooting myself in the foot with GGG's zoom zoom design these days and I accept getting 10 times less items and experience per hour. I was trying to refer to the just published upcoming changes to gladiator and block in 3.16, that's not about getting way less, it's about being able to play this archetype at all. At 50/50 block, relying exclusively on recovery from Aegis, this seems not viable anymore. (check the example video, I consistently eat 100 hits per second at times) Going from blocking 83 of 100 hits to 50 of 100 hits cannot possibly work in this scenario. Perception is reality.

" GB pushes your block chance back to 83% instead of the 50% versatile combatant has. The downside is that you take damage BUT it is not big problem because the moment you lose hp you also gain hp in instant. SO 2% from 3millions instant es back will keep you alive even after duducting 65% damage of monster from this instant pool. 60k es gain per block - monster damage = resulting damage received ( which would be like -58k damage received assuming you got resists in yellow maps) What will i do is to take both GB and VC but not playing Eegis build, it is almost free 50% block, replacement for the 50% dodge we had previous patches(dodge is gone) I feel pretty, Oh, so pretty,

" Believe me, it is required, block and GB cannot be compared. A GB build will instantly fall over when approach T16 + damage mods + league mechanic like this: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=1nU-P9izmCU&t=415s I don't mean this as an insult, but please don't try to abstract here from your average mapping build, the difference is night and day, and what you think you know should work, does not. This thread and discussion is precisely aimed at this specific archetype and people with background on it. The 5 people that are left today, lol. Perception is reality.
