The new Divine Shield Keystone and its interaction with block
Regarding the new keystone: Divine Shield:
Percentage of Total Physical Damage prevented from Hits Recently is Regenerated as Energy Shield per second. Will this proc if I block or do I actually have to take the hit and let my armor do the "preventing"? Also, how does Glancing Blow effect this since we still take damage even if we block.... I'm pretty sure block, evade, and spell dodge all will not apply. The interaction is specific to their desire for an interaction with armour, and by release I expect the wording to be more clear.

Probably the interaction is similar with pre-3.7 Molten Shell - damage prevented is calculated based on character's armor and physical damage reduction.

I think it works fine with block. You still get hit while blocking (unlike how evade and dodge work). Also armour mitigates damage before block kicks in.

" But that is the quandary I have. If we block with Glancing Blows, we still take damage and our armor is still interacted with. |

Then I suspect it will interact with whatever mitigation armour did provide to the 65% received.

I dont think armour is the relevant stat for this keystone.
If it was it would be phrased accordingly but armour isnt mentioned at all. Neither are "mitigation" nor "avoidance" but instead its phrased as "prevented". That should include everything as far as Im concerned. Armour is in this context relevant to some degree, but so are endu charges and block etc - at least in my mind. Having said all that: This keystone has the exact same wording as the "unbreakable" ascendancy perk. Now Im not into Juggers. Never have been and probably never will be. Point is, since it is the same wording it should work the exact same way. So jugger lovers out there, please enlighten us plebs ;) Last edited by Orbaal#0435 on Oct 9, 2021, 6:01:00 AM

" You are correct that it is not mentioned in the keystone, but the keystone wording was the "specifics" to the "solution" for the following "problem" in the manifesto, which does clearly mentions armor. Problem: Builds wanting to invest in both Armour and Energy Shield have no mechanic that gives a synergy between the two. |

" But it does provide synergy between Armour and Energy shield in both cases, it just provides synergy with other thinks too if the other ways to prevent phys damage also count. "An it harm none, do what you will"

Yeah, Percentage of Total Physical Damage prevented from Hits by Avoidance, Resistances (for future reference), Physical Damage Reduction (including Armour), Spell Suppression, Damage taken modifiers, Attack and Spell Block Recently is Regenerated as Energy Shield per second would be a bit long description, that's why it's not mentioned.
