Glancing Blows not in manifesto

hmm lets see...

i can choose to easily cap block with glancing blows with %life gain on block and abuse the new spell block nodes they claimed to have added

or

i can pick this new keystone that drops my max block chance to 50% for no real reason

Bet they do something wacky to screw with the blue nightmare + sanctuary interaction in that area of the tree to offset new spellblock nodes.
Did I read that wrong or did it say, drop your Attack Block to 50% and gain 50% Spell Block?
~ Please separate the PoE1 and PoE2 forums.
I'll be surprised if Glancing Blows survives as is at release with these changes.
Thanks for all the fish!

If you are talking about versatile combatant its 2% spell block per 1% attack block above 75% and max block is reduced to 50%.

That isn't exactly right. It is 2% spell block for each % block above max. If you have 75% block and take Versatile Combatant, your max block becomes 50%, so that extra 25% gets doubled and applied to spell block.

I will pick both and invest nothing else to block node :^)

remember, glancing blows still means you take damage when you block.

the new node, while setting you to 50% block, does not. every blocked attack/spell does ZERO damage.

sacrificing 25% attack block, to gain 50% spell block.
Chance to Block Attack Damage is doubled
Chance to Block Spell Damage is doubled
You take 65% of Damage from Blocked Hits

New node: 50 is maximum
spell is gained at 2x rate

That means with hammered buckler you get
54% attack block and 16% spell block Assigning just 2 nodes.

using one of 38unique shields or rolling low tier block chance puts you at
50% spell block 50% attack block chance

Which is something like 17.5% less damage taken
at price of 2 nodes

(not so amazing) but then you get x effect on block (%es gain, life gain or trigger something like unique effect or spell) and it becomes very worthwile. Or amazing unique shield effects like triple curse.

>necromancer can now super easy get max block minions or max block himself with just bone offering
>riposte/reckoning is now easy bonus dps for pdps builds on 4link or helm 9link

What makes it so good is the doubling of doubling when it comes to spell block.

So with 38% chance to block damage you get 76% from this 76% 26is taken and doubled 2x to 52% spell block

So even with just some trash unique you get 50% attack and spell block.

Because of how big buff to evasion is going to be you can mix both for little investment and be immortal as long as you havw 25k evasion 38% block and 150mil hp.
