Unless I'm mistaken, 2021-07-23 is when a league started, so it would make sense for there to be a spike there.
I don't understand the August spike though, perhaps both are caused by some kind of computing issue on Steam's end? Although Steam has a history of doing thing like removing negative reviews and bolstering players for games they wish to promote, it's just seems weird in this case. |

steamcharts is fine for current data, but it can be very problematic for historical data. Use steamdb for that.

Current Steam Numbers, for the last weeks. Seems not unusual for that period of time in the league, maybe slightly less.
