whats the point of generating so many useless rare items?

Tons of gears are filtered,we can barely see it or identify it. ofc its pointless to do that, expecially in endgame situation.

Crafting seems like a very end game thing, and when people crafting, they always want the tier 1 mod, this makes farming gears more pointless.

Maybe getting rid of tier 1 mods out of the crfting is a way out?

Because some people don't trade. It's trading that makes stuff worthless.

but could also give them value, if trading would be more difficult.

---

rare items drop in masses to enforce the choice to either waste time picking them up/identifying them or play more effectively and leave the identifying part for the new players.

problem: most players fail on that decision cause curiousity is a bitch :)
age and treachery will triumph over youth and skill!
No. It can't give them value. People value stuff that they can't find for themselves. Hence, anything they can expect to find will have no value. The only things that will have value are things players can't expect to find for themselves.

So... rares are either so rare that you couldn't expect to find one, or they're trash.

It's totally on trade to cause this. If you had to make do with what you found yourself, you'd look at the items and evaluate them to see if they're an improvement. If you can trade, you don't need to do that.

You give up the right to complain about drops as soon as you even consider trading.

We're already almost certain that they're reworking loot drops for PoE 2.
I loot every fking rare I can (yes even in endgame) for alteration orbs so I can roll my watchstones for better mods, and when alt-spamming decent bases to craft on. If there's too much loot on the ground, hit Z temporarily until the area is cleared so you can see, or make your filter more strict. simple. Additionally, ggg already made it so items filtered won't drop, so why not just increase the strictness and not worry about it? Some people actually have strategies other than chaos recipe for picking up useless rares bc they don't want to contiinuously deplete their mid-higher tier currencies to waste their time trading for alterations and what not.

Cool so loot might be in a better state sometime around 2024. :/

Forgive me if that doesn't inspire confidence in GGG's developmental vision.

I suspect nothing inspires confidence for you in GGG's vision, while nothing needs to inspire confidence for you in Blizzards' vision, so I'm okay with that.

For my part, what the guy above you said seems fine for now.
