in one of the last interviews chris said that expedition goes core and splinters go autopickup and account bound.

for me, that means, it's treated like the delve fragments.
age and treachery will triumph over youth and skill!
They're going to make something untradable?

Damn, if only they did that instead of gutting Harvest to complete fucking uselessness for people who didn't trade for their crafts.
PoE players: Our game has a wide diversity of builds.

Also PoE players: The [league mechanic] doesn't need to be nerfed, you just need to play a [current meta] build!

Look, I'm not gonna debate how they treated Harvest. For sure they could have handled it better.

That being said, I can see why they did it (not why they did it like this). It's all about retention of players. A market full of good cheap items might make it to easy for most people to go through the grind and challenges. And they saw it as a bad move. Probably people left to fast, except for a hard core which enjoyed the crap out of Harvest. Of course, the way they handled it made them lose even more.

However, with Expedition there's absolutely no reason to brick it. It's just an alternative to grinding maps. Nothing overpowered, nothing out of ordinary.

For them, giving players an alternative playground which retains them for 100-200 hours more should have been a complete win.

THE ONLY reason for doing this move (auto pick-up untradeable artifacts - which will kill expedition mechanics) is because some core zoom-zoom players complained about to much clicking.

And something else. If Chris already slipped... mind you, in the middle of the league, the least you could do is come out and explain why and how this will be handled.

Otherwise it goes something like this: "You enjoy this league? Niiiice.... haha.... guess what... next league, no more fun for you...".

It doesn't make sense and it's very poorly handled.

everything related to autopickup will always be non tradeable
its one of the rules for autopickup

basicly everything that is tradeable needs a player action

I get that. I am questioning the reasons. Why destroy one of the best mechanics in a long time ? Just because some people complained about some extra clicks ?

It doesn't make sense !

Making Artifacts non tradable will create a mandatory grind for those who want to engage with Expeditions. It won't destroy the mechanics of it, it is just a way to say : " If you want it, just work for it, no more cheesing for you"...
I'm for once happy to not have to click on those (and i'm not from the zoom² crowd...)

The moment you make something untradeable people lose interest in that thing ! It already happened! It's a known result! It's actually quite simple. Let me translate it for you:

- extra items, artifacts, harvest crafts, Aisling slams etc. which could translate into value for the one getting it, become useless=> no interest in playing certain mechanics.

It's almost like saying "If you want tomatoes, go grow them yourself! NO more tomatoes for you in the shop!"

But you just prove my point. Other than "not clicking" there's no other reason.

What you say about "cheesing" not only doesn't make sense... but I'm pretty sure you are using words you do not have property of hoping it would make you sound more intelligent.

It's like any relationship mate. The more you try to force it, the more you will get the opposite result.
Why is this a surprise, the game has become more and more SSF (single player) friendly, and geared towards the top 5% of players.

Numbers wise, wasn't expedition like the worst league in 7 leagues? I think it's been 2+ years since the player base has been this small.

In response to this - didn't Chris specifically state he doesn't care about player numbers, and that he basically wants POE to be for that top 5%, everyone else is just a casual...

POE has simply devolved into a grindy single player game.
