This game balancing sucks so badly

I found that melee build sucks so badly . Builds like bleed SST , Shield crush and Str stacking boneshatter jugg does so little damage to bosses and i invested quite heavily meanwhile a 1 exalt miner although glasscannon can clear and do much much much more damage!! Or skeleton mages meanwhile my boneshatter build can't even take down Awakened lv 5 90% quant baran and my pob damage is is 1.5 M
At this point its not even worth min/max like getting % str synthesis ring

1.5m is pretty reasonable you should be able to do Baran with that, but yes their balance is very scattergun.

SST and Shield crush both outperform right now they definitely don't have damage issues but there are a great many skills you could use as an example instead :p
Hey you know what helps balanced between range vs melee class skills? PVP updates, that's what. Get on it GGG.
20vs20 group pvp updates (for the main game, not royal). Siege vs siege maps. Randomized & shuffled passive trees. Bigger trees +30 point updates.

Large towns hosting 100+ people; bard taverns. A field near town for guild events. Not hideouts like WoW-Garrisons. Outside like Ragnarok Online.

i think the real problem is that the content is balanced around a bunch of overpowered mechanics like damage conversion, crit and chaos damage.
aswell as those mechanics still being overpowered.

eternity shroud for example is one of the most broken items in the game since you triple dip damage if you convert from phys/lightning to cold to fire to chaos.

you get so many options to scale damage with conversion by taking any kind of increased elemental / physical / chaos damage on the tree, which there are plenty, giving you more free passive points due to easy pathing so you can allocate crit or utility notables which there are plenty of.

overall you get easy access to multipliers with conversion on the upper right quadrant on the passive tree and its easy to reach 10+ mil dps on any kind of build.

you also have low life, CI, MoM.

what does melee have on their side ? resolute technique and unwavering stance ... lmao

lol since when? PvP and PvE are only successful in online RPGs when they have completely different balancing for both modes.

If GGG wanted a decent PvP crowd for PoE, they'd have to have a completely separate game mode that instantly boosts everyones character to level 100 and gives them all the passive points and access to a basic set of PvP gear, balanced specifically for PvP and nothing else. As you play you could unlock more gear or skills or items or whatever, or heck just insta-unlock them immediately and sell mtx for the different effects. None of this transfers to the real game.

This way people who don't care about PvE and character building could still play PvP and the competition is what would bring people back, not having to spend 10+ hours to hit level 60 then hope some other lunatic had the same idea and wants to play capture the flag with you.

I remember one league on day like 86 was the first time someone entered a CTF map, PvP is that dead in this game lmao

I wouldn't say 1 ex, but with 2-3 ex you can really make a pretty decent seismic trap build that destroys almost any content.

For instance this league I set my goal to kill A8-9 and Maven, and while i struggled with my tanky 20+ ex Viper Strike occultist, or my saqawal tornado build, after a quick respec to poison seismic trap on my occultist (with 4,4k ehp and like 3 ex max investment) I almost insta-phased both maven and sirus A9. Sure i could die to almost anything, but it didn't matter because the damage is so high that it makes the fights much safer because you fight less than 10 seconds each phase.

To do that with a melee skill, I'd assume you'd need to invest way over 50 ex to do so.

I wouldn't say that it's impossible to do these fights with melee, because it isn't. But the difference between most meta spell/trap/sst builds and the rest (espectially melee) is HUGE.


So, I wholeheartedly agree about the part that balance in poe is indeed extremely terrible when it comes to skills.
