Seismic cry Can't Exert Vaal Ground Slam

I do the warcry getting the exert counters, then try to activate vaal gs, but nothing happens. I have no gems linked to vaal ground slam. The exert counters do work with the normal version of ground slam.

Yes, But It will only exert when I have souls. It will not exert as though it were not a vaal skill.

Wait maybe I'm misunderstanding it. Does Exert as though it were not a vaal skill mean that I can use vaal ground slam as though it were normal ground slam as long as I have exert counters, or does it mean that vaal ground slam can be exerted even though it is a Vaal skill?

Now you're contradicting yourself. Vaal Ground Slam can only be used when you have sufficient souls. Having exerts from a warcry won't let you use the skill without souls.
