Anyone else plays the game casually?
" I enjoy playing the game solo, it's the grouping part that I don't like. Same thing in other games, except MMOs. I have over 2.5k hours in Ark: Survival Evolved. I'm playing mostly solo there, I played a bit on a server with other people, that game has a proximity voice chat, someone came to my base and said something, I didn't answer, but that made me really uncomfortable, I thought "I'm sure you're a nice guy and just want to socialize/help, but.. please don't." And went back to a solo server. I actually have a plan for gaming in the near future: playing PoE till I'm bored, then New World comes out (28th), but I think after a few weeks I'll stop playing that, after that I want to play "Medieval Dynasty" again, a really chill and relaxing indie game, after that back to Ark or trying FFXIV. And possibly going back to WoW in the more distant future. |

" Yeah, I can't stand party play in PoE either. Seems like it's just an e-peen arena for who can clear the fastest. I like being social in-game, though - and active on Discord. I'm a leader of a fairly large guild, but it's sadly pretty dead this league due to all the controversy. I'm not an MMO guy, though - if you don't count SCUM or DayZ in that category. Can't stand the idea of being dependant on others to get the full enjoyment out of a game, so I tend to stay away from those kinda games. Bring me some coffee and I'll bring you a smile.

Next league will be more casual friendly but the game itlsef hasn't been casual friendly at all since uber elder patch I think. The amount of things you need to setup atlas and make meaningfull progression is atm a bit high. I have been very casual this league but played it a bit steadily and I haven't finished the awakening bonus(I'm like 154/164 bonus obj meaning 25% effect of affixes instead of 27%). Exalts start costing a shit ton, meaning that if you want to see meaningfull loot end game you have to initially invest something like 300c on top of watchstones to see meaningfull returns in your maps, wich is not something a big casual would do. You can decide to farm bosses however, wich doesn't require atlas completion(at least way less influenced by it) but it requires consistency and focus to generate revenue as well.
So yeah, if you are casual enough so meta has no hand on you(maybe you are ssf and purposely clueless) it's not a big deal. But for more veteran players, it has became more and more no life oriented over time imho. And I don't even speak about the pay off mechanics(like crafting) that are still useable but require way more commitment and consistency from your side.
