2021 reflect and immune damage

Do you happen to be using the Punishment curse?

If so, this could be a certain strange interaction between different entity teams in the game code.

I read tales of some aurastackers instantly dying in Labyrinth because they cursed enemies with Punishment... then the Traps killed the enemies... then the overkill damage spread to the players and dealt insane damage.

What could be happening, if you are cursing the enemies with Punishment, is that the exact same thing is happening with Blight towers counting as a "third team" and the Blight tower overkill damage is spreading to you and instakilling you.

EDIT: Those same tales told of dying from Sirus influence in Maps, because the Sirus attacks were killing enemy monsters and spreading the overkill to the player.

So reflect is a problem because OP died to something that clearly was not reflect, and called it reflect because they don't understand what killed them.

As much as this thread is a depressing example of why I've lost all respect for 99% of this community, it managed to hit (completely by accident) on an actual valid point: this game needs a death recap of some kind, so that OP will correctly identify what killed them and make a thread complaining about that being OP instead of whining about something which doesn't exist.

OP died because they were standing still in a Blight encounter, trying to facetank creeps instead of using the tower defense mechanic.

Yeah it would be cool if GGG could output a text-file when you died listing the last 10 hits you took before your death and the damage.

these cant 1 shot you they have a fixed value than can scale with map mods
you take a fixed amount of dmg every time you hit a thorns mob
its impossible to kill yourself with it unless you run a no regen+leech map and use a very fast hitting build
even on these no regen+leech map its kinda impossible to be killed by it unless you dont know or ignore the fact that it is a no regen/leech map
