Why does GGG always have to say fuck you to their players! Why?

The totems don't proc on your minions. I play skeletons and I use them actively to kill the totems and I never get alert raised on them when the totems activate.

However, I have noticed that their detection hitbox may be larger than the visual effect may let on.

I'm not even in the same room and the alarm goes off so please don't tell me that minions do not proc the totems. If you don't believe me go take a look at reddit. ^^

They don't. You're either triggering it yourself through some lag shenanigans or you're doing something else to raise the alert level.

Well 32ms isn't the greatest connection of all times but it's good enough to avoid any "lag shenanigans" and what would that mystical "something else" be that I and countless other reddit users do?

played a lot of heists, even golemancer during heist league, never seen minions triggering alarm.

What even is this thread lmao... perception towers are so easy, just pop a quicksilver/phasing flask and run past them. The sensor pulse is on like an 8 second delay, if you or your minions get caught by this enough times to trigger the alarm you SHOULD fail the contract.

I've run maybe 10 thousand contracts since Heist league and literally never once lost a Heist to this mechanic.

Instead of asking "Why does GGG do this to their players?!" maybe the question should be "How hard does GGG need to hold players' hands before they accept responsibility for their fail-states?"

Nobody is asking for hand-holding--but it sure would be nice if they'd stop breaking builds that worked just fine, & making sure that off-meta builds don't stand a chance of end game success.

My biggest question going forward is why is there so much useless crap in this game? All of these new game mechanics have made following any kind of build guide both more expensive & also super difficult to get the right pieces.

Yes I'm a casual player; I play leagues but not leaderboards. I'm content with pushing builds to 90, then trying something else. Now however the game has become more work & a lot less fun.

OP definitely is. Have you ever actually run a Perception Heist? THIS (click for video) is the mechanic being discussed, just so we're all on the same page. One incredibly small pulse every 6 seconds, from destroyable totems which do not respawn, and every time you're hit your alert level goes up this much:

This is with Nenet only, your alert level would go up far less in a grand heist.

So I ask, again: how hard does GGG need to hold players' hands? If you fail a heist because you get hit over and over and over again by these observer totems, you deserve to fail that heist.
