Regarding "carry services"

Well thats not an issue with carry service but rather with Beachheads or Chayula rotations providing too much XP and heavily shortcutting the way to lvl 100.

I did lvl 100 in a time where there was no Beachhead or Chayula and i tell you the builds today in Softcore league that reach level 100 would simply not reach 100 back in the days. Because they are usually 4-5k life garbage zero defense that use those carry services.

Mapping the normal way during lvl 99 and dying only once among the hundreds of maps will make you feel the xp loss brutally. And builds that die often on average will never reach 100 the normal way due to XP penalty.

My friend was like lv88 and hit 95 the next day.
I just heard the xp and leveling is still good even beyond 96 in these services.

In Standard?

I have alot of pretty much experienced players in my friends, the list is usually full of lvl100 chars at the end of the first month of the league. But in Expedition, the current one.. Guess what? Only single one from them is 100.

Nope, this league. Anyway all my friends on list are offline and think it is same for many players.

I see no problem with this sort of thing.

People have always hired guides - experts in the field - to help, train and overcome obstacles for them. Hell, my father makes a lot of money as a guide for hunters and fishermen that come from all over the nation every fall. The pioneers traveling west hired French and Plains Indian guides for their wagon trains, and the military - from George Washington all the way to James Mattis - hire guides to show them the local haunts.

PoE's build system is extremely complex - and many players optimize their characters for certain terrains or even specific maps. Some are good at clearing open areas - some and tanky and great in tight spaces. Some are wonderful at killing bosses, while others are dedicated to Heists or Labyrinth. Why not cooperate with one another - benefit from the build diversity.

You pay a few exalted orbs to a lab runner, and he uses his specialized character and skill-set to guide you through the challenges. You buy into breach runs for people with the same expertise. They help you by getting you your acendancies or level 95+ - allowing you to go focus on your area of proficiency. You help them by tossing them some currency for their time, knowledge and effort.

Cooperation.

Am completely intrigued by the lab and craft services.

For Lab carries, you underestimate how much FASTER labs can be when you have a specced lab blazer flipping all the switches and killing all the enemies for you. Full key runs, full darkshrines, etc. Sure, you need to get through certain gauntlets but the really dangerous ones are the ones with switches or levers that you need to continuously backtrack and run over multiple times that you simply don't have to do with a carry.

For crafting service, yea you need to trust the player. But think about how long it takes to unlock all the crafts...if you find a trusted craft provider its a shortcut past DAYS/WEEKS of grinding, just like an exp carry.

I really like Sabranic's analogy. People will always, ALWAYS, look for (and pay for) shortcuts. Why don't we all fix our own cars when they break down? Why don't we all build our own houses? You pay someone to do it for you, because they are better and faster at it and you still reap the benefit. Unless a game is straight up Single Player, carries will always be a feature.

For labs, it was like going to the dentist initially but I have learned to tolerate and accept it.

To me, the idea of "making the climb to level 100 a challenge" and "pay your way to level 100" remains conflicting.

Painting into an analogy,
"

I graduated topping my "class" (pun intended). Look at my poor fellow classmates. They have to grind extra hours whenever they fail a trial test. I have none of these issues. Just pay my instructor and get full scores every time, carrying me to sweet graduation (lv100).

This actually happens quite a lot. In fact, there is a giant industry based around providing credentials that you've done almost nothing but pay for.

Fortunately, the gap between 95 - which is easy to get even grinding white maps - and 100 is VERY small. So you're "buying" yourself a trophy.
play ssf if you want more justice and sense of accomplishment. private league with friends/guildmates is a viable option too.

trade league is an absolute cesspool full of botters, rmt, economy and party play abusers: levels, challenges - nothing matters and could be bought. its like an extenstion of actual trash irl system. you would not want to play a game to simulate another trash experience from real life.

well, 3.15 is so bad that it's not that relevant atm, it's not worth going for 100 lvl in ssf because the game is a dumpster fire now anyways, doesn't respect your time. it's not worth it.
dead game
bring back 3.13

For lab carries, people go to TFT to find a dedicated lab runner to do the whole transaction for them. Yes, that means they just give the item freely to the runner so the buyer can continue playing the game (with a temp helmet obviously). Lab runners guarantee the enchant within 24 or 48 hours pending awful RNG. That’s what I remember seeing last season anyway. Seems like a great deal for anyone who doesn’t want to do labs, which is most people as we all know.

^lab carry is different from a lab enchant service. Lab carry is to help your character complete the lab. Similar to what Diablo 2 "rush" was.

There are many builds people make that simply do not function until they get a high enough level, or get their 3rd/4th lab and so they pay someone to bring them through asap because they basically cannot damage the enemies or boss enough.
