Linking (and failing) feels so bad in SSF =(

Honestly it feels like ssf is not for you. If you get triggered by mere 600 fusing no 6 link which is way below average btw. You chose ssf you no longer entitled to anything. You get a 6 link first, there are plenty of ways, tirn end, div cards etc. Then you can work on you ideal 86 base.

Yeah, SSF and trying for a specific, gear dependent build is a recipe for a bad time. You're adding many many layers of difficulty and RNG.

Honestly, for SSF, a Scion, due to the class's flexibility may be the best idea. Most builds can be tweaked to work for a scion. This lets you plot your path based on what gear drops, rather than being so locked into a specific path.

That's "normal" mate, you have to accept it. I'm 700+ as well and still no luck. Sometimes it takes insane amount of time to get there so much so that I start another character :D Good luck!

PoE isn't Diablo 2. In Diablo 2, you can play the game entirely SSF and tackle everything the game has to throw at you. That's what I did growing up as a kid who lived in a poor household and no internet. PoE's SSF is an entirely different beast and you either have to be ungodly levels of good at the game or you have to accept that your less-than-sub-par build will never reach the top and somehow be okay with that.

Okay, i won't tell anyone SSF is better, hehe. It feels better for me tho, as i do like finding my own items instead of playing pixel businessman™ v0.1foreverbeta (it's too easy btw, despite all the intentional crutches that ggg put in there), and even linking them. Also i have that strange for trade league habit of picking up some rares and even finding decent ones among them, so let me admit, i'm a masochist of sorts, hehe.
It also feels good to some extent not feeling the weight of "muh eeconomy" and just playing the game at my own pace instead of trying to measure fun in effectiveness and chaos/egg-salts per hour.
Bots ruining pixel chaos/egg-salt ratio? I don't care, in my ethical virgin ssf world they are just pixel painted stones, usable only for crafting aka gambling. "Omg league's ded, nothing sells!11"? Whatever, the league is alive while i'm still playing it, even if i'll be the only player on that old pentium server. Mirror drop? Even if it happens, i'll most likely just say "mmkay" and dump the stupid pixel thing into that stash to rot there for an eternity.

Not sure that i'm up to the next level of masochism called ssf hardcore tho, as the holy client software randomly crashes once in a while even in a late league, and i find using "officially approved" logout macros quite similar to a good old cheat code, which kinda stinks too much to use them myself.
