I can't find a clear answer - Awakened Objective completion process for low level maps?

Per title. There's so much bad information (and a lack of information at that) around this.

Almost all of my T1-T8 maps are not Awakened Objective complete.

I have all watchstones and chromium orbs for empty spots.

I tried removing all watchstones but the T1-T8 maps still give me:

"Map tier is too low for the Maven to witness." (which is the Awakened Objective, right?)

So - how do I complete the Awakened Objective on these lower tier maps?

No, the Awakened Objective is to complete the Map at a certain (high) tier while the Awakening Level is at a certain (high) level.

By completing them when they're a higher tier.

The same Map base can exist as multiple different tiers. For example, take Channel Map:

If you just generally play with all Watchstone sockets filled, you will eventually be able to complete all Awakening Objectives (since you'll meet the Awakening Level requirement as Awakening Level 8 or 9, and every Map that drops will be at least Tier 14, which will be high enough for the objective). If you want to get these done faster, you should first remove watchstones from regions for the Maps you aren't chasing the bonus for in order to narrow down drop possibilities for T14+ Maps to just drop the Maps you're chasing the bonus for. Then, before running these Maps at T14+, socket the watchstones back in (as needed).

When you open your Atlas (default key G, I believe) you should be able to hover your mouse over a Map and it tells you precisely what you need to do to obtain the Awakening Objective for that Map:


And those stated conditions are the only conditions you need to meet. For the example in the image, get a Tier 14 version of the Map, and be at Awakening Level 1 when you open the Map (actually I'm not sure if it's when you open the Map or complete the Map, so to be safe open it at the required Awakening Level and don't modify your Watchstones before you complete the Map).

Awakened objective has nothing to do with Maven.

Mouseover the map node on the atlas. It'll tell you the requirements.

Option 1: Buy the maps off pathofexile.com/trade

Option 2:
1. Insert 4 watchstones in the region you're trying to get the bonuses in. You'll see the map say "Tier: 14" like in the screenshot I posted above. (or 15 or 16)
2. Play any T12+ Maps (T14+ for best results) for a while. Be lucky, don't be unlucky. Eventually, you will drop T14 versions of the Maps you need. It's pure RNG at this point, so you might get a really long streak of bad luck and feel like they don't exist, but they do. Run a couple hundred T14+ Maps and you'll almost certainly have at least one of the T14+ Maps you're looking for.

Additionally, you can use the Favoured Map system (left section of the Atlas screen) to select Maps you don't have the bonus for yet to increase their drop rates generally relative to other Map bases. Click the empty Favoured Map slot, then click the Map on the Atlas that you're trying to get the bonus for, and Maps that drop will prefer that Map over other Maps of the same tier.

Ah, I see. Ok, I'll just keep the T14 / 4 slots and run maps like that. I have a good time just doing that without overthinking it too much. Peaceful, even.
