The game engine is absolute garbage

who are you to speak for "everyone" with crap performance? There are tons of things that could go into performance issues. I highlighted one of them myself (HDMI connection)...

I take the word in exactly the context you provided. If you don't like it, perhaps you should proofread and choose your language more carefully to say what you mean.

What I am "adding" is that there is no fundamental issue with the game engine, as it works perfectly fine on other machines. 50% of the people who commented on this thread alone report no problems.

[Removed by Support] But I'll leave it with one final thought: the OP title is "Game Engine is absolute garbage". This isn't about individuals having performance issues for any other reason other than a critique of the Game Engine. As such, my response and other's responses point out that the Game Engine is perfectly fine, and the issue is elsewhere.

LOL touched a nerve did I? Are you the type of person to zero in on a non issue of semantics in someone's argument and then dig your heels in so you can feel right?

I was snide and sarcastic with you but you've definitely taken it up a notch with the personal attack on my character. Sarcasm can be a tool to show someone the absurdity of their argument, that is if the person on the receiving end is mature enough to think about it for .5 of a second.

If you didn't notice, I used "everyone" in the same sort of sarcastic statement to the other guy.

That said, I agree that the title of the thread is hyperbolic. I just don't take everything so literal, and I read the person's post before I decided what it was they were really saying.

Should we all refrain from overstating things? Yes. Will we ever stop? Not likely. You have to actually want to understand people instead of finding any excuse to reduce their arguments.

Finally, perhaps you assumed that people who complain about a game's performance need to be informed that not everyone is experiencing it so they can try to fix it on their own end. I have a hard time imagining that people don't know that already, but hey maybe you are providing a service.

Has anyone read what I even wrote?

I don't have FPS issues. I am running at a constant 120 fps.

What I do experience is the game engine not being able to render monsters or skills on time, with even a lot of situations where I see stuff being rendered right in front of me (from white "nothingness").

Can you use async commands? https://pathofexile.fandom.com/wiki/Launch_options
may help I agree the game could use a lot of optimization sadly dont think it will happed till poe 2 if then.
The issue op reports and similar basic in game experience issues continue to plague this game. Just because it is not reported here doesen't mean it is not a prevelant enough issue.

Ppl prefer to leave and play other games, rather than bother with work of devs should do speaking of testing. Especially if you neeeeed to deliver avidences, do weird things, use console and so on. Because just to report issue is obviously not enough. Ez choice.

And last but not least, you don`t really want to confront with the well known statement of

Path of Exile's engine is currently modern, lean and fast.

Because of ..reasons.

This is something I experience as well, but only in DirectX. When I play with Vulkan, it doesn't do this. Vulkan, however, doesn't run as smooth for me as DirectX does. This monster not appearing or skills not showing their effects (mine or enemies') happens consistently. Every single map.

I think it is still to do with the texture streaming system they put in place to combat performance issues. The thing is, I never had any performance issues in POE, barring a few patches that were borked for everyone. I think the texture streaming causes more issues than it solves currently, at least for me.

It can be a wild ride. Barring some early issues with texture streaming, I started getting really poor performance by the end of ritual, and in ultimatum the game was fully unplayable. It was taking forever to load resources and kept reloading them every ten seconds so I'd get horrible stuttering while doing practically nothing, and doing ultimatums looked like minecraft, except with blocks being invisible half the time. Invisible but deadly.

Then I saw somewhere that starting the game with the 32bit executable helps with that, and it did, the game ran normally for the rest of ultimatum, I'd go back to 64bit and get shit performance again so something was definitely wrong there. When they announced expedition they said they're pulling the 32bit exe support because nobody is using a 32bit os anymore, it got me a bit worried, but then I tried using the 64bit exe again and it also worked normally, and still does.
Wish the armchair developers would go back to developing armchairs.

You just summed up what's going on for me as well. DX runs smooth but can't render stuff in a timely manner. Vulkan drops frames left and right but somewhat manages to keep stuff rendered in correctly.
