Ignite question

Will:
Enemies Killed explode, dealing x% of their Life as xxx Damage

trigger ignite on nearby enemies if they did not die from initial explosion

If I have:
Shaper of flame (your hits always ignite, all damage can ignite)

An enemy exploding counts as you hit? I don't think explosions count as a hit, let alone your hit, but I've never had cause to look into it.

detonate dead is an enemy corpse exploding, which hits. why would this be different?

True, but DD is an active skill with a flat damage component in addition to the hp percentage as opposed a passive exploding effect. All explosions are treated as secondary damage, and for whatever reason I was incorrectly thinking secondary damage could not apply a hit. That simply was a major lack of knowledge on game mechanics on my part.

Nevertheless, I still do not know if a passive explosion is treated as your damage. I suppose it would have to because the only alternative is friendly fire.

Yeah, I don't see how else on-kill explosions could be other than your hits. Evidence in favour of this is the vast literature out there describing physical-scaling physical-based on-kill explosions. You could argue the explosion comes from your items instead of you, but your items aren't entities in the same way that your character, traps, totems, mines and minions are.

What you're probably thinking of is the fact that the on-kill explosions are (as far as I know) never Attack nor Spell damage. So attack damage and spell damage bonuses won't affect them. But things like all Damage Ignites should work just fine.

Funny how I was just looking into how unsummoning Skitterbots triggers Heartbound Loop. The self-inflicted damage is secondary damage that hits.
Can confirm that explodes count as your own hits since I often see them proc corrupting fever.
