More visual ailments
I die often to ailments but is not becausa I do not have counter measures against them, but instead I just was not able to saw it in time. The indicator is usually only a debuff status within many, and some small visual effects on my character.
My suggestion is to add some screen overlay effect when character get ailments. Just as ideas/examples: - poison: screen get covered into a green blob at corners and everything turn into shades of green. - bleeding: screen get covered in blood in the corners and everything turn lightly red. And so on for the other ailments. This would make very easy to notice and react to them. Hope you enjoy the suggestion :) ![]() ![]() Last bumped on Aug 18, 2021, 12:17:02 AM

They've done a decent job finally adding ailments.
Took them years to finally remove the damn Raider Phasing effect. Impale has a visual now. Corrupted Blood finally got audio. Bleeding and Poison are likely next. Bleed isn't too bad IMO. Mostly annoying when Purity or Golems get it and I think it might be me. Honestly I've always ignored Poison in this game. I can't remember when I cared. Chaos Res for sure but guess I never played a character who cares about Poison. "Never trust floating women." -Officer Kirac

OP: You screen actually gets darker as your health reaches critical. You notice it more in the campaign, in maps, death usually comes too quickly to really see it.
When the resolution was smaller on monitors, you could re-color the health globs and get a pretty good visual indicator, but as screens have grown wider, it's hard to keep that in your field of vision. Starbound has the Health Globes in the top/center of the screen, and that works excellent for keep you abreast of your character's health or ailments.
