My experience with strike skill and what needs to change... (long)

I'm not sure Gem swapping is an issue with Strike skills. Least it didn't used to be. I played a Double Strike Zerker in Heist and never bothered to swap. The DPS output just obliterated regardless.
That hardly means there isn't a problem though since Double Strike is literally the only one I would play these days. Molten Strike was destroyed. I guess Lightning Strike is okay? Dual Strike is mostly a crappy Double Strike. Pestilence was pretty good when it came out. I forgot Viper Strike and Glacial Hammer were a thing and Heavy Strike sucked since the Stun meta died early in the game's lifetime. Maybe more Vaals would help. it certainly holds up Double Strike. Also there's more channeling wheels but they also suck. The only one I use is the Cluster notable x2 version for Stun Immunity which I'm using right now actually. Where like you mentioned the Strike wheel is near mandatory because it's actually very good. "Never trust floating women." -Officer Kirac

I cannot agree more with the person who posted this. Strike skills are just bad for clearing as they always hit one dude. When trying to mitigate this and starting to use support gems it takes away the slots for less damage but extra targets: Ancestral Call, Multistrike, etc.
I think we all agree that swapping gems is just meh. So, introducing new wheels for the many strike skills is a must with bonuses like extra targets, attack speed and of course damage. I didn't realise there is only one wheel dedicated for strike skills. The second idea is even better to introduce a stance for strike skills that alternates between AoE damage / multiple targets and single target damage. Upvote from me for both suggestions. |

" Yeah, it is good. I would say too good, it is just mandatory, until you get very high-end gear at this point. What you mention is also true, if you have very good damage, all the problem goes away. It just that from my experience, I struggle a lot in early maps, when I have no 6L, no Hunter strike gloves. I just love the playstyle and would like to see it improve. |

Can second this.
Playing an infernal blow build right now, and its just... underwhelming, even though I have extreme dps on PoB. The fact that 3/4ths of the time you just "miss" because you are off a pixel is way too much. And if you close your eyes, does it feel like your exalt almost hit this time~

" I'm the same that Zerker was my fav character in a while and I often kinda make fun of "melee" as a concept in this game as casting mid-range spells with your weapon. I love waiting for an opening, jumping in, doing obliterating DPS, disengaging, weaving dangerous attacks then jumping back in. It's just much more engaging getting up close and personal.
