Fortify change suggestion

Regarding what was said by Zizaran and in Baeclast about Fortify being in a strange place with spellcasters I have a suggestion:

Fortify could be a guard buff:

Gain value to Fortify buff equal to 20% of melee damage dealt up to <300-3000>


Gaining value to Fortify buff would refresh the 4 second duration, and taking damage would decrease the value. In other words it is a straight forward damage mitigation like a guard skill that goes up and down during a fight.

As a Guard buff it would take 20% off of the incoming damage with the buff. It could gain various benefits from guard passives, and fortify passives could give larger percentage, duration and max value to the buff. But unlike a guard skill it would not have a cooldown nor it would trigger a guard cooldown.

One interesting possible change would be with Hardened Scars passive with this:
"
Hardened Scars
Gain Fortify buff from life flask equal and up to the recovering done

This would mean your fortify buff value increases while recovering from the flask up to the maximum amount the flask can heal.
