What is "the vision"?

I would realy like to understand "the vision" behind this changes, as they make no sense to me.

I have no problem with slowing down the game, as I have no problem with playing a very fast game, as long as the whole game content and experience is tailored for that particular play style.

I read some comments about how GGG will make changes and the game will feel good etc etc... guys, this is a game released like 10 years ago, this is not, or shouldn't be beta testing.

I'm ok with changing the game, changing the playstyle.. whatever, but the game doesn't feel good, the changes made, seem artificial and don't flow well with the content in the game - if 3 months is not enough to deliver a balanced, well polished game, take more time - right now the game is not even harder, it's not challenging in a good way, it's not more varied in number of builds played, it's just clunky and frustrating to play.

I realy miss the time when the days just could't pass fast enough for the new POE league to start.. the discussios I had with my friends about the trailer for the new league, what builds should we play, theory crafting, farming strategies etc etc etc, those where the times.

I'm sure that there are people who enjoy the content as it is right now and I can tell you with the utmost sincerity that I envy you, I tried the league, not going into details, but this is not the type of content I want to play... my endgame is to farm a lot of currency and invest it in a character that can destroy everything in the game, not a character that can almost survive in a T16 map, that's just not for me.

I started playing Last Epoch and enjoying it a lot but can't help to remember the good times I had in POE, farming fully juiced 100% Deli maps with Headhunter and my character being an absolute freakin' God! Maybe it will be like that again, although I doubt it alot with how things are going right now.

Good luck GGG, hope this "vision" workes out for you!

The "vision" is not defined, and you won't know it until they are finished with it, which they never will be. you can ask for an explanation of it, like you have , but I already have many times, and you will just be ignored.

It seems that the "vision" is the ride to wherever the devs feel like taking the game , and will always be this endless stairway to nowhere and everywhere.

the vision is that you have to spend 15 mirrors to be able to kill sirus and if you don't take 320 hours to get through act's its too fast and too rewarding, and God forbid you to find exalts the first 2 months of the league
Ditt j*vla flöte Danne!!
Actual vision:
If I recall GGG's vision for Path of Exile is to make a hardcore game that people will still play in 10 or even 20 years from now... but only if makes them happy...

The changes they did this league are probably only 50% or even 25% of the changes we will get before Path of Exile 2; this is to bring both games closer together and to be able to raise the power bar again once POE2 is launched.

At least that is what I understand from their (vague) explanation(s) on Reddit, the forum, and their Q&A Twitch streams (at league launch).

Still, 3.15 was quite a harsh nerf and I think they should have spread it over multiple leagues.

Flask changes + support gem nerfs + mana cost increase (and act 1 buff) wasn't a good combination and the game does feel bad because of that combo.

Currently they "slowed down" the player (a lot) while everything else in-game asks for really fast gameplay. What's most hilarious is that without the new instilling orb for flasks we need to be so quick we can look at what ailment affects and use the flask while it's still up to get a 4-second immunity but ONLY if you've used it while affected by that debuff/ailment.
Good luck doing with bleeding, when you're walking... lol.

Not to mention the implicit on flasks should be used before a hit occurs and the explicit mods AFTER the hit occurred... again lol.

Anyway, all we can do is hope GGG's learn from all the "feedback" and will adjust their errors.
If not you'll probably see me in Last Epoch soon.

I do miss the god mode explode builds from Delerium!

POE can't be slowed down without a complete overhaul of the game, that's the issue, the game was thought out to be fast paced (by GGG by the way) and you have a lot of mods on gear and skills on the skill tree that help you do that... the changes done in 3.15 hinder players intentionally to try and make them slower, but the changes don't make the actual gameplay slower, just makes progress slower because you die more often and that's just bad.

POE is basicaly on it's way out with the upcoming POE2 launch, and as I understand, the only thing that will remain from POE will be the Acts (capaign part of the game) that could be played to reach the POE2 endgame. If the acts are the only thing that matter for POE2, why do they need to change POE, just make the act changes whenever POE2 launches.

As I have seen in the trailers, POE2 is very similar to Last Epoch in terms of game speed and player/content interraction, and that's fine, but that's built into the game, the game was thought out to be like that and feels natural... by the way, if you have a well rounded character in Last Epoch, you can't get one-shooted.. wink-wink GGG.

I never claimed their changes now are good though, but I can understand why and honestly think more "balancing" is on the way (for future leagues).
Of course, I can't be certain of it, and it's more of a hope...

We don't really know all details of how POE1 and POE2 will interact, we do however know they will in some way... a few of those interactions are skill gems, flasks, and items.
So yes even though the POE 1 end game won't be there anymore (not sure though). A lot of skills, items, and flasks will be, and these things are getting balanced for the POE 2 release. Together with the acts, one by one...

I agree they need an entirely new game to slow down POE 1, but isn't that the point of them making POE 2?

Most ARPG are somewhat fast passed games and have that kind of "kill or be killed" mentality. I'm also quite sure over time POE2 will reach the same kind of power creep we experienced in POE1 in the last few years.

Still some changes now are too harsh and/or don't make sense in the current state of the game; even to a point, some content became unplayable without insane (time and currency) investment into a character.

Last Epoch came a long way since its "release" and is more a mix of both D3 and POE. I've played it and has quite some feature I would love to see in Path of Exile. Currently, it's the best contender on the market, and GGG should watch their backs because the game has quite some potential.
If GGG doesn't start listening to the majority of their (casual) player base and act on it, they will lose quite some players.

The question now, exile, is whether or not they're foolish enough to let 'em down. I think they just might be. XD

"The Vision"

A serene and untainted paradise. sandy white sun soaked beaches entirely unmarred by human footsteps.
I have never felt further from what I know and love
Thank you all for mentioning Last Epoch, now i can just forget POE.

Current vision for the game
Need more brains, exile?
