The game was too hard before, it's now unplayable...

Ignoring the clear lack of QoL improvements, the fps drops, how tedious and repetitive some of the mechanics are...

Why would you nerf players even more, removing harvest crafting was already a blow to most people trying to make their own builds but now even our skills are useless...

I play since 2016, I played at least half of the leagues, I bought some packs to support the devs as I thought the game was the best in its genre and offered an interesting alternative to Diablo and the new boring ARPG's with limited theorycrafting and item diversity but since the 3.15 patches, I noticed that the game is just becoming boring AND harder.

I saw the patchnotes, was already worried about how they'd affect the gameplay and balance but I followed the general advice, gave it a try, outdid myself with a new build that's clearly the best I've ever managed to make and had some fun but now that I'm mapping I'm starting to get bored...
I've around 500k-1M bleed dps and 50-80k maximum hit taken health but even with that much investment into my build, hours of theorycrafting and hours of farming, I can't craft a single new item to improve my build. I don't really like my own build playstyle and I don't even know why I'm farming anymore because I'm sure that even with full T1 modded items, 6k hp, 80% phys resistance, 75% elem and chaos resistance and 2M bleed DPS I'll still hit a wall and will get one-shot by Sirus or a random mob on a map.

I can understand if GGG wants to slow down the pace and make combat slower and add "weight" to actions in the game but at the moment they just made everything slower and harder, they could have at least nerfed monster damage a bit or added more defensive layers but no, they nerfed Fortify...

Tbh, the game never had any weight to begin with, killing bosses rarely grants anything useful except new endgame mechanics, you can get killed out of nowhere even with the tankiest builds, you need to farm dozens to hundreds of map to get something remotely interesting and the community is toxic, always flexing on people who can't or don't want to farm 12 hours a day and spamming insults, slurs and obscenities in chat... The game has no BASIC QoL features such as a ingame trading, loot stacking and only thrives on addiction to random numbers. Bots are still roaming as are people selling currencies for real life money. Understanding the mechanics literally requires a degree (PoE University helped me a lot, thanks Ziz) yet even with 900 hours, 5 years of playing, hundreds of hours spent on PoB, the wiki and watching guides I still feel like I'm bad at the game and when I look at how people play, make "200M DPS builds" that are basically glass cannons and get sometimes killed in a matter of ms even with items costing hundreds of exalted I wonder how anyone can say the game was easy.

I also wonder where the "player powercreep" comes from because I don't know a lot of people who managed to kill Sirus, Maven or Shaper... When I check out the accounts of the trolls defending GGG and the 3.15 nerfs I'm often dumbfounded when I see they never killed Sirus or Maven too yet are still saying the game is too easy and that everything should be nerfed to the ground when they are bad at the game themselves.

Preach it, time to uninstall.

The psychological aspect of people defending the patch who has never touched an endgame map or boss is interesting to me.
Possibly, they're displeased with other people being able to do content they can't do and want more people to be at their level. It makes them feel better about themselves.

This is a pretty common practice in humans. This kind of: "If I can't you shouldn't be able to either" mentality.

I honestly dont care about the difficulty. if the rewards matched. but they do not.

this game's loot system is fundamentally flawed. the only things of value that drop are bases and the currency to use on those bases.

Im surprised you even reached sirus and maven with only 900hours.
I too played this game for 900hours and i cant get to red maps, good for you.
But even if you reached farther than me, we are the same.
hehe *slowing down the game*

Dude, you are not alone. Before the 3.15 Patch i was happy with the game because after also around 700~ hours i finally reache ~1,7M DPS and full block + good resistances on my miner. I was at 90% Experience to finally reach lvl 97. Now after patch doing the same farming i have died about 7 times now, all my experience i farmed over days and weeks is gone. I hitting my head against the wall asking myself why i even continue to play this. Casual gamers are simply arsed with the latest patch and i am think about qutting for good.....

Maevan ans serus were created the way they were because of the power creep.
Completely agree. GGG butchered all casual play and railroaded the hardcore play into the same 5 meta builds.
It's have to be ready to PoE2 (4.00).
If not no one will play PoE2.
Best to get it down to play level of PoE2.
The fact that 99% of the game is one shottable to most builds with very little input and bosses sometimes take forever is just atrocious. All I see the bosses as are gear checks... Oh know better have x amount of fire resistance and a movement skill or koams fireballs that take up my whole screen (ultrawide 34" ...") will get meh.

I'd even be willing to bet that "good drops" have a higher average of dropping from trash then bosses... Probably should just kill trash mobs and avoid harder stuff if you cannot maven for the uber loot...

Upgrading gear after a certain point is like in real life. Irl 300$ buys you a nice nice pair of headphones, Where as the higher in price you go the more the returns diminish in terms of "more sound quality"

Sure I bet that 50k pair of headphones sounds amazing but... I literally watched a girl play a 10k flute and then a 60$ one and they sounded the same... Thx certified klipsch speakers and I cannot even hear the difference... So I told her sell the 10k flute, buy a house with it and then play your 60$ flute in it... Sorry but I am not jealous of roughly 2 lbs of a metal shaped as a musical instrument much as I am not going to pay 50+ exalts more because it has 40-50 more energy shield on it...

They have run out of circle gimmicks and I see their tricks now... "Hey guys how else can we make sure glass cannons are practically unplayable?" I know! I know! "We will make a circle and the monsters will come out of all sides randomly!" "It's brilliant Tony! bloody brilliant mate! this will pair nicely with those other circles that appear when you get all the golden rings!"

This game is literally a slot machine.

If that was my flute video it would have been called either "How to waste 10k on an item with a 60$ equivalent" or possibly "got 10k and own absolutely everything else in the world?"
