Melee is fucking Awful!

Honestly some times i think to myself the best way to make melee better would to make all melee usable while moving with a directional cleaving effect. Essentially you can move your character and use melee strikes without stopping. I cant remember if any other ARPGs do that, its been a long time since i played grim dawn and torchlight but i feel like one of the two did ? I still dont think that would fix anything however, because the bigger issue now is damage and defense balancing. You have to allocate quite a lot into defenses again after this patch and lose out on base damage from % multipliers on gems, while also losing more points in offensive passives for defensive ones.

I took a look at clusters for my build but my build seems to be one of the few that dont really benefit because by speccing out points i would lose things like fortify effect and base block chance for more damage and in addition to that, if i did utilize a small block jewel i get less block value per node that i would by simply accessing it on my tree since all nodes are in path with no extra points spent to get there.

Harvest sucks! But look at my decked out gear two weeks in!

Blade Flurry - Can't comment never played. But looks channeled. So move into melee range and then get going. While friends blast whole screen while your setting up? Wish you stayed on the move like cyclone in a neat animation of some Naruto 8 tails swords flying through air.

Surprised you haven't tried it honestly. It's been one of the top non-slam skills for like 4 years.

It channels up to 6 stacks then lets go a large burst when you release. Makes it really good for clearing and boss DPS. Clearing you leap slap, hold one second, release, leap slam, hold one sec, repeat. It covers around 40% of the screen. Bosses you just hold it at max changes and when forced to move they get hit by the blast so you don't lose much going back up to 6 stacks.

Good for physical Impale, Cold/Electric conversion or full Cold. Easy to get Stun immunity.

I'm playing it right now because it's been a long time since I used it and it's been tried and true.
It used to push around 50-70 mil on the top end if I recall.
No idea anymore. Nor will I get the currency to fund that I'm sure.

A GGG supporter told me melee is not nerfed in 3.15 patch, so in 3.15 melee is doing good.

LOL, all bosses and monsters are buffed and that is not doing anything to the most underprivileged group in poe?

Like those the poorest people are not effected by Great Depression, because they had nothing to lose?

And every time GGG "balance" "buff" or "nerf" anything, the mechanics that makes a lot of melee skill almost unplayable are STILL not improved, so all people can do is to find a T1-ranged-zoom-zoom build and BONK bosses with 30M dmg so they don't need to feel the frustration of being a melee player.

Grim Dawn has something similar with their dynamic targeting. The character steps forward as they swing and the targeting shape is a cone that cuts across multiple enemies (and behind them too up to a certain distance) and targets the closest enemy near the cursor. These are all off the basic attacks.

Wolcen has something similar to Grim Dawn but it is more refined and has a lot more precision. You can even turn while striking and cancel out moves more effectively.

If you have ever played Lost Ark that game has some of the best melee targeting and melee gameplay in general.

It is a shame GGG could never get melee targeting right it is the main thing holding melee back. All those other games down need extra supports just to get melee to function (in this case barely). Melee just functions.

Oh well maybe GGG well get it together...maybe the eagles will come...
Still failing to solve "The Riddle of Melee" 4.0 HYPE!!!
SILLY BITCH...THE EAGLES ARE COMING!!!
THE EAGLES!!! (bleeds out from a wound to the gut)
the eagles...are...coming...(coughs)...the eagles...
you should suggest putting divergent melee targetting in a mystery box
