Ward and drop rate bugged in Mushroom Thicket?

TLDR: Ward was lasting for 5-10 seconds or more on monsters in Mushroom thicket. This did not happen in the regular Uutzal part of log book.

GGG does Ward work differently for monsters than it does for players? According to your own statements Ward will last for 1 hit only and then become available again after 5 seconds.


I ran a Expedition Log Book in the Uutzal Outskirts. Literally the only defensive suffix I chose was %30 dodge chance. I reread all the mods over 5 times after I was done to make sure there was no life regen, no block, no extra resist, etc. Again, the only defense mod was %30 dodge. Cleared the above ground map in a couple minutes. Monsters were dying very quickly lasting maybe 3 or 4 seconds if they were a very tanky rare Runic monster. Ward would drop off monsters after the first hit as expected. They also dropped tons of stacked deck, artifacts etc. Then I entered the Mushroom Thicket and holy shit this was insanely tedious.

Monsters that did not have ward in the Mushroom Thicket were dying as expected. The Runic monsters with Ward were taking 15 to 20 seconds or more to kill. Much much longer than in the above ground area of the map. I have 6 totems each firing a minimum of 7 projectiles against a single enemy. The Ward would last for 5 to 10 seconds or more even if they were the only monster being targeted. There is no way in hell that a monster can dodge over 30 projectiles for 5 seconds straight without the Ward dropping off. This happened with every single Runic monster with Ward. I reached the unique boss and killed him in a few seconds. Feels bad when a white mob with ward is tankier than the "boss".

The Mushrooom Thicket also contained 2-3 times more Runic monsters than the regular Uutzal Area. Despite this I didn't even get 1/10th the loot drops. I would press Alt to show all items on the ground and I could count literally 3 or 4 items. Mud flats in Act 1 dropped more items than this area. In total I got 3 stacked decks and 2 stacks of artifacts. The boss dropped nothing at all.

Every other underground area I have done in Log Books has been equally or more rewarding as the above ground area.

Has anyone else had this problem with Mushroom Thicket? Did I just get some weird one off bug?

Yep same, the drop rate was next to zero and the monsters were somehow way stronger than the last runic monsters on the logbook map itself.
