Absolution

I feel Absolution doesn't have core theme. It's a lightning, small AoE skill that can summon minions. It's basically a Lightning Warp + Summon Phantasm Support in one.

The Sentinels should have a identity that differs from other minions, something special. I don't think Absolution itself also works that great - it's a lightning skill, yet it's a minion skill. If I go for Necro, there are too many other variations of minions that work far superior and what turns out to be is that Absolution becomes just a secondary ability to cast, so you have your minion army.

I really hope Absolution can become a main ability, but currently it feels too much like a golem or a Animate Guardian, but not doing the same thing and be just another minion to enable and forget.
The first question does the "x% increased Absolution Cast Speed" enchantment affect the minions or is it just the players. IF the former then phrasing could be a lot better. If it's the latter then oh boy do I have opinions on the enchantment options for it.

The bonus duration is a whatever as you might enjoy the QoL or not, most skills have a utilty alternative(duration, life, resistances etc.) so nothing wrong there. The issue with with the other option.

Increased player cast speed only has any real effect when doing bosses, and even then its just a miniscule effect relevant to getting the sentinel boys out faster before it becomes uselss.

In fact, after looking at the first 30-40% of helmet enchants or so Absolution might even be the only damaging skill in the game without a true DPS boost in its enchantments because all other skills

Or in the case of minion skills, they give the boost to the MINIONS and not the player. The things the skill is intended to be used for

The worst offender was Dominating blow which is almost a 1 to 1 counterpart of Absolution just in melee style. What do they get? Additional minions. Given those minions keep monster modifiers thats a pretty huge gamechanger of an enchantment giving both utility and damage potential.

For another minor gripe with the skill, I strongly dislike how you get hard punished on doing bosses with longer downtime phases as your summons are likely to runout even if you had the duration enchantment which means you gotta do the sentinel summon casino all over on them.

The actual skill I really like. Having to take part in combat myself to keep the summons rolling makes me feel a lot more engaged in the combat than if I was just summoning things.

It also strikes a rather nice amount of having a few high quality minions that don't flood the screen. I would like to see more of enabling a single high quality minion as opposed to the swarm tactics that are so common.

The % summon rate on hit is pretty ok but would be a lot nicer if it was boosted slightly (30% or 1/3%) or scaled downwards based on how many sentinels you have out so it's easier to get started doing damage but slightly tougher to get maximum DPS out of it (from flat 25 -> 40/30/20 and then the old 25% for refreshing duration)
First of all, i don't play PoE a lot.
Leveled an Absolution Necro this Season.
Got a Kirac Mission for Drox Boss.
Of course i get killed 1-2 times.
Then i stand there hitting on a blue/rare add of Drox for 30 times trying to proc a sentinel and nothing happens. Dead. Done for the season i think.

Could you give it a thought to change the proc of sentinel from percent/hit into proc/nr. of hits? Like for example leave the percent chance, but give it a badluck protection so it spawns at least every 3 hits?
That would be great. It's pretty bad having the main damage ability of a character dependend on too much luck to even be able to "start" doing damage.
(If it has been suggested before, take it as an additional vote)

Otherwise i love the skill.
Thanks
Question about Absolution. If I have a Triad Grip with all red sockets will 100% of the sentinels damage be fire, or will 50% still be lightning?

IIRC the way it works with skills that have base conversion, the base conversion has precendence over everything else so what happens will be that it has 50% lightning and 100% of the remaining 50% (ie, 50%) is fire.
(source my memory + source from 2013, that's why I'm not sure if still true)

If the above is no longer the case, then with skills over 100%, it will then take the total conversion as your new max and the conversion to each element will be relative to that, so 50% phys-lightning conversion with 100% phys-fire conversion will result in:

50/(50 + 100) = 33% lightning and 100/(50 + 100) = 67% fire

Oh what I wouldn't give for an alternate version that was fire damage instead of lightning.

Thanks very much!
Would be great to have divergent to give a different damage conversion % or straight up 100% one element,

Would also be great to have alternate /phantasmal to give +% chance from quality to summon sentinels on hit / crit.
What if Absolution summoned Archers that channel Scourge Arrow that deals Physical and Fire Damage and leaves golden flower blooms that fires Bloom Arrows. Essentially the skill they use would be called Purge Arrow, for those moreinto nerdlord, you'll notice the "Scourge" and "Purge" being related to the Redemptionist Gaang from Necromunda in WH40K, so its a discreet nod to 40K
Is this skill meant to consume nearby corpses to refresh the duration as per the skill gem description? As far as I can tell the only corpses that are consumed are upon the initial summon of the sentinels.
Summoning Absolution from consuming corpse or attacking rare/unique with low summoning chance is really weird and pointless. Just make them permanent minions or increase the chance to 100%.
