Lancing Steel + The Saviour crashes
Got the same issue, quite annoying.
Never had issues with crashes and it started shortly after I got the sword. Crashing without Sniper's Mark active. However I'm running Fork at the moment, will test without it and see if it's better.
Happens to me with or without Sniper's Mark or any form of Fork/Chaining. Very annoying! Disabling Sound Effects seems to work but perhaps it's placebo?

Is anyone getting this crash when they turn sound off?
Does the audio start to stutter before the crash occurs?
I'm also crashing when using the savior sword with shattering steel. Happens randomly throughout combat. No error messages or anything, just a full on client crash.
| |
" As mentioned before, when I disable the sound in the config file the game is running better than ever. Not a single crash or fps drop. With sound effects volume on it's stuttering and crashing shortly after. |
|
" The moment i turned sound effects off via the config file no more crashes |
|
" When I disabled sound effects it did not stop the crashes entirely, it only reduced them significantly. |
|
The crashes for me only happen in conjunction with The Savoir. Shattering/Lancing steel without the savoir do not crash my client. However, equipping sniper's mark will still stutter the audio and cause FPS drop. Again, that's a slightly different effect from sudden crash to desktop with the Savoir equipped.

Hi Jatin,
The audio does stutter very briefly before crash. For me, the time period between the audio/screen messing up and a full freeze is about 2 seconds. My system is very powerful and runs the rest of the game flawlessly so I don't think my computer itself is locking up or anything - I think it's an actual engine bug. " Yes and yes. It happens for me with Shattering Steel even if I disable sound with --nosound or by editing the ini. As an example, when I attack a pack of monsters and use Call of Steel, the audio distorts/crackles for about ~1 second and then the game crashes straight to desktop with no error in Client.txt (or crash dump file). |
