Royale: Server population
|
If there are statistics on which server from each region is most populated and fastest to start a game in, post it here, or make guesses and assumptions.
EU: my guess is Frankfurt/Amsterdam? Simply info for players to find full lobbies faster. Last bumped on Aug 3, 2021, 6:09:54 PM

Thanks! Most servers are barren, and I even was literally alone on the Paris one, but there's Royale games starting every few minutes on the Frankfurt one. :-)

I always figured Battle Royale games were a bit of a sausage party so that tracks. :)
It's just a pun, GGGuys. :) If I like a game, it'll either be amazing later or awful forever. There's no in-between.

" I'm a dad joker without being a dad. Some Rulers just want to watch the kids groan. Boy that came out wrong. Anyway: seriously, was BR a flop despite everyone begging for it all this time? If I like a game, it'll either be amazing later or awful forever. There's no in-between.

" -starting royal -waiting few minutes to fill the server -spawn with 0 chest in sight -find empty chest all around -get killed by roahs without any active skills -wait 10 more minutes to end the game -repeat. IT s not balanced, It favorize racers (lack of gems at start, needing to push forward very quick), players can start with 0 skill gems and barren landscape. GGG have a lot of trouble when it is about PVP, the gameplay always lack something and patches are always too slow to come. Royal is more a race than a pvp mod and racing without a skill gem is pretty hard. Forum pvp

" I played a half dozen matches, it was challenging (in the annoying sense) I did get my Cut-throat achievement finally after so many years. I personally miss and prefer Descent Races over BR. ~ Please separate the PoE1 and PoE2 forums.

I think it’s probably better off if they run it as a limited event during hype season. The weekend before release had much stronger populations.

They've said it's a work in progress. I say we give them a few months tweeking it before we make our pronouncements.

" I enjoyed good old cut throat in closed beta but I suspect that is due to the nascent state of the game and the tiny population. And of course Descent was just glorious. But you gotta go with the popular flow and all indications are that'd be to experiment with BR permutations. Lolozori: wait, a hardcore mode based around one of the more aggressive online genres favours aggressively competitive players? No. Say it ain't so, sir! I remember testing early PvP on alpha. It was actually a lot of fun. But that fun hinged on something people can accept about D2's PvP but abhor anywhere else: it was totally unbalanced and silly and as long as you didn't take it seriously it was a blast. Naturally that couldn't make it to live...and so began the impossible task of balancing the inherently unbalanced. There was some vague attempt at mimicking Guild Wars 1 (yet again) by having separate PvP skill balance but that just doesn't work in an ARPG that is meant to be unfair for everyone...and especially any enemy tragic enough to cop a faceful of screen-annihilating overpower. In short, it is a fool's errand to try to balance PvP in a PvE game all about being OP bur bless the fools who try, for they truly are the paradigm of human ambition. Forget billionaires thrusting themselves into the cozy entrance of the Final Frontier -- that's a casual Sunday hobby compared to even merely sufficiently balancing PvP in an ARPG.
