Cluster Jewel Node Wish for Death not working

Wish for death is supposed to give culling strike against cursed enemies. I have them triple cursed via bane and they're not being culled. It's no particular mob type, bosses, maven encounters, map monsters, etc. Nothing is culled.

and what skill are you trying to cull them with? Bane does not hit thus cannot cull

Blight, death aura, and bane are my skills. I use them actively throughout mapping. Blight mostly for bosses.
If you're saying spells don't hit, that's not what culling strike implies. Its like saying critical strike chance with a spell isn't a "strike" technically either, but it affects spells. I really just don't know what to say if bane doesn't cull like you're implying. The node should say something along the lines of "with melee attacks" or something if its restricted to that attack type. |

So what you're saying is "applies a debuff" wording on the spell gems is supposed to tell me "doesn't count as a strike when it comes to culling strike", despite the listing on the spell gem "spell." That's not at all obvious if that's what's going on.
