New Spectral Shield Throw... Do the shards pierce, chain or neither?

I know the old one pierced, but the new gem doesn't specify?

Did some testing, but it was really hard to see what was happening.

It appears it does not pierce, and it does not chain, even when linked to chain support. Am I right?
the main projectile chains. adding more chains should add more bounces to the main projectile, not the shards

the last time i played it (was a while ago), the shards needed a source of +pierce to pierce. i wore

and had a much better time clearing trash.
Hmm... that kinda kills my Deadeye SST dreams... Oh well, I'll adapt.
deadeye? couldnt you just path to the pierce node on the tree? if you're taking Acro, you can spend 2 points and get +1 pierce (and then 2 more points for +2 if you really wanted it)

1 pierce should be enough in most cases.

though, looking at deadeye... other than rupture, very little looks good for sst. the extra projs is covered by a hat enchant, and the chain you've already discovered doesnt do anything :P

"Additional Chains now apply to both the Primary and Secondary Projectiles."

From the patch notes.
So chain is THE projectile modifier you want. And you'd want as much as you can get I imagine, though added projectiles would do more for you past a certain point of course.

I'd avoid pierce, since it'd take priority over chain, preventing your shards from utilizing it.
Get additional chain, use Sniper's Mark, enjoy zoomzoomzoom clearing.
I have a pretty good sense of humor. I'm not German.
