I love the game and have supported for years. League started every single league (even double dipped on the HC ones back when there were two leagues per league).

3.13 was the fastest I ever quit a league.

why?

I enjoyed my league start (cobra lash slayer) and I'd been wanting a Perandus League 2.0 since forever - which imo Ritual delivered on reasonably well. But the Harvest integration was too imbalanced.

Harvest compelled you to play 1/8th of the atlas at the expense of the rest and much much much worse - compelled you to use an unverifiable, unsecurable, third party system to make the most of it.

Normally when I don't like something (like my Sirus portals) I'm quite content to sell it (or give it) away to someone who does want it. I couldn't do that with Harvest. And when it came to upgrading my main character or starting a second guy, Harvest was the obvious, no discussion, no choice, best way to gear any of them in every slot. And that is incredibly boring to me to have the best gear come from a series of trade interactions in which I have to give my 'hard earned items' to a stranger and have them stick their tools into my gear. Not interested.

That left me feeling like I was playing a different game than everyone else despite being in the same league with them. Very off-putting.

In all the other leagues I'm happy to do whatever the thing is but not at the highest min/max level. I'd rather roll another toon than min/max excessively. It doesn't bother me to do a T14 metamorph while others are doing T19 or w.e the tiers go up to now. It didn't bother me to do a T9 blighted map while others were paying for premium oils to max juice the hardest ones. But playing 'normallly' in 3.13 felt really really stupid given the opportunity cost.

Had I league started Harvest in SCTrade instead of in a 6 man private league I imagine I would have felt the same about that.

The lesson I learned was play SSF until GGG gets better at balancing the economy.
This community is the equivalent of an entitled oversensitive trust fund crybaby.

I hope GGG nerfs everything even more in 3.16. They did the right thing and the game now is more fun and better than it has been in quite a while.

Try starting in fresh league to see how fun it is.

Both.

The powergamers and the more casual players.

Ignore anyone demanding that the game be made for them and them alone. Which was the problem this time out, and it's already caused a severe drop-off.

I wouldn't quit because of that personally. I would just grind for myself then if that bothered me that much. It was doable to make better items solo.

But ok, I get it to a point.

Wow, godforbid that someone wants a game that they can personally enjoy, and provides feedback to that effect.

The horror.

There are more communities than that. I hope you know that.
Thanks for all the fish!

Wow, god forbid that someone might want to play a game that isn't zoom zoom 90 second map clears ez mode on basically any build with more than 5 chaos worth of gear.

The horror.

Why? I have never been interested in playing a league.

Leagues are good for three kinds of players:
1) Players who want to get rich
2) Players who really love trying new league mechanics; essentially beta testing them for Standard
3) Hardcore players who want an active trade league

If you aren't one of those 3, your experience would be better in Standard.

I play both standard and league, and found the standard players and mindset to be far more entitled and perfectionist than any league, by several orders of magnitude.

That said, the league grind is real and absolutely destroys people, throwing away perfectly good content because it's not the one piece of content that is mandatory for a challenge completion or fits into the absurd death race of how many juiced towers per minute do you need to get a HH by 30 days.

If you work with a guild and you don't produce either beachheads, juiced BG/towers, or high caliber breachstones, your mates won't even shit on your grave. THey will turn around and fleece dozens in chayula scams. I know several people in Standard that will let you tag along in stones or even sims just for being a fellow chronic.

I get it, we need to think about our mana. I run gemini claw. There. I thought about it. We need to think about our movement skills and cooldowns. My movement skill is Charged Dash using HoWA on the other hand. There, I thought about it. Next?

None of that really stops us. What pisses us off is that it was SOO important for them to fix our mana and flask usage, movement skills, and ailment management, but do nothing about the lack of endgame rewards, nothing about the amount of garbage on the ground causing lag, zilch about streaming textures, and yet more clicking because it's such good cardiovascular exercise to pick up splinters. MMM do I pick up this trash 2H axe or this 4x4 "splinter" the size of a tool shed. "Forcing difficult inventory choices=skill testing, do you value your time Exile? I certainly don't, here have some more layers of RNG walls and time sinks between you and any endgame encounters."
