Options not saving

SO as far as i look through internet i saw that this is ongoing issue dataing back to 2012. Sadly none of the fixes solved my issue so im writing here.
Every time i lunch the game i need to change every single options as after game closes all go back to default settings. Not to mention that i cannot change sound quality at all at this point as it requires rebooting game. Game seems to doesnt save any graphic settings, Loot filter, sound / language options. I went through all fixes i found online but most of them are dated somwhere in 2012-2015 so i guess they no good anymore. Can any one relate ? Last bumped on May 17, 2025, 10:47:19 AM

" either you dont have correct file permission to write to the file, the file is set to read only or you need to start PoE as an Administrator. This is a local windows security issue and nothing to do with PoE / GGG. |

I tryied that already i even checkted windows defender center, firewall rules etc. i did reinstall game twice and checkted is dokuments/my game/poe folder correct ( nothing helps (

HanSoloDK Thanks u have helped me in some way ) I fixed my issue by copying all text from production_Config.ini file than i delete it and create a new one. So there was propably some permission problems with that files now all works )

" you are most welcome and this proves that file was either set to read-only in windows file system settings or permission on it was wrong. Good to hear that you got it fixed. :) |

Same Issue here.
But the above Fix dosnt work. I checked before replacing the file: my current user had all neccessary permissions. The current user also installed the game as administrator. After starting the game, graphics options are overwritten. Weird though: Keybindings in tab "input" seem to be saved. No clue in logs either. Last edited by borism#4303 on Aug 13, 2021, 9:08:40 AM

" most likely your have onedrive / dropbox / XXX syncronization turned on and that's the file keep reverting back. |

Hey I'm currently having this issue on PO2, I have turned read only off, ive ran it as admin but as soon as I leave the game and join back in my settings are reset anyone have any fixes??

" This partly worked for me, but I had to do a few more things. 1. open poe2 2. on the windows settings, go to sound settings > app volume and device preferences > go to poe2 and change the output to what you want it to be 3. close poe2 4. delete the production_Config.ini file 5. open poe2 and it should've defaulted to what you set it as through your windows setting. (DON'T manually change the audio device in poe2 or it'll override the settings when you open it the next time) Last edited by tolafe#5545 on May 17, 2025, 10:47:39 AM
