Act 1 Rhoa in Mudflats
The mob of 50 Rhoa in the Mudflats is almost impossible to kill. I suppose on a ranged char this isn't much of an issue, but as a melee I walked into the Mudflats and got ganked by 20 Rhoa and can't even get a swing off to kill them. Now that mob is 50 deep after just trying to avoid them and grabbing the first 2 eggs and I can't even get the third Egg (or Glyph or w/e) from the nest because I get killed instantly by 10 charging Rhoa as soon as I get near it. I realize you guys don't test stuff real well (in the words of the Dothraki "it is known"), but holy shit... c'mon GGG you can do better than this. Scale enemy damage as the game progresses not at the front end so no one wants top play your game. I'm a vet and I'll get passed this part, but most newcomers are going to just uninstall 5 minutes in if this happens to them.

Hi, I am more of a casual player.
Normally I can get to maps and had fun there, but the new changes got me killed like 6 times in the first 3 areas. First time in the first area from a normal mob. I like the challenges I get in the endgame but right at the Start no thanks. This is way I will stop and wait. At this rate I would not get to maps in time before the League ends. |

" I've never died to Hailrake (the boss in the tidal island who gets you the Quicksilver flask for the quest). He killed me 3 times. I've never died in the Mudflats. I died 9 times and then just logged out to play Ff14, because fuck that. I love challenging games. I'm a long time Souls/Borne player. I LOVE a challenge, but there needs to be a pay off, and there's no pay off at the start of PoE. The payoff was always just bearing with the awful grind that is the 10 acts (even if you can get to maps in 6-8 hours on your first character, it feels like a longer time than that. It usually takes me 8-10 hours on my first char and 5-7 on chars after that) so you can play the super fun end game. As I said on another post I'm just disappointed. It's poor decision making imo. I love this game and have bought a lot of stuff to support the team, but they have lost touch with the game. Their original vision might have been one thing, but they game became something else, something probably even better than they could've imagined. And now they are trying to force the game to be whatever that original vision was - A slower, grindier game. There's already games like that (Grim Dawn and Last Epoch mainly, but they are balanced for that style and it feels good). It's PoE's adrenaline pumping, fast af intense and amazing end game that sets it apart and they should be doing whatever it takes to get players to that part of the game if they want retention. |

I am learning to chip away at large density packs early by aggro'ing the the most exterior areas 1st, then work your way in the middle areas slowly. I am running Shadow atm using mines so if I dont do that and take more time for this kind of strategy, I will surely die, as I did already 1x to a large pack of mobs + this fire mini boss right next to a Caged-up Navali.
I've never played a trapper or miner build before so I suck at this atm so I expect to die at least a few times or a hundred times over by the time I reach red maps bc I can already see the trend of all these mobs popping up out of the ground from more than 3 detonations then and getting ganked so bad bc of lack of defences and nerfed to hell MS. PoE should be a game where we die. we have to learn how not to die again. i play mmorpgs, i has no home in them right now since i quit maplestory. i just bounce around games for now and wait for the big mmo to bring in the community. stay sane exile in the lake of the great depression.

Looks like it sucks when you can't pick up an AoE skill after Twilight Strand or at works Tidal Island.
I started with Shield Crush Scion, so I had no problem there. Only died once during my first tackle of expedition on the Coast, because I had only starting flasks, and my muscle memory tried to dash me out of trouble...without having Dash. |

I'm in act 4, did Normal Lab before Dominus and still alive. People, just don't go upfront, this meta makes us to run in circles.
It sucks but it is the current state of the game. |
