GGG needs to understand that the campaign is unbearable and long.
I'm done spending 10 hours each league getting through the story, only to find out that my build isn't going to work and that I need to start it all again. The meat of this game is in mapping, and I spend a majority of my time each league playing through the story. I'm so sick of it. I dont understand why GGG has only ever made the campaign take longer. There was a buff to all bosses, there have been heavy skill nerfs. WHY would you guys spend so much effort on making the single worst part of the POE experience take even longer? Why would you force people to slog through the campaign again when they want to play another character?
No more. I won't start another league knowing the campaign is going to take EVEN LONGER now that they have spent time nerfing all builds accross the board. Last bumped on Jul 27, 2021, 7:53:15 AM

There's no shame in playing standard if you don't have time for league play.

" The answer is that GGG is trying to improve the acts so that they become a fun experience, instead of letting people skip them. Why do you think the acts are boring? GGG probably wants your answer to improve them even more. |

Hi, this question got me thinking. The acts are boring because:
1) the density is too low and the areas are too large with too many levels to slog through 2) the drops are too shitty and too low 3) new untwinked toons are undergeared and slow - gameplay starts off clunky and slow and gets better with passives and gear 4) Playing twinked is boring - you dominate but there is no rewards to it, you just want to get it over with faster My suggestion: the league mechanic, the new and only thing we haven't done to death must be good. It must be interesting, it must be difficult but not frustrating, and it must be rewarding. However with trade being there from the start, they have no way to balance both for twinked and untwinked. My suggestion beside working harder on the league mechanic is having a separate toon only copy of the stash, with the toon gaining access to normal shared stash upon completing campaign and carrying over levelling stash as remove only tabs. As well as being unable to trade or pick up items that have ever been in another player's inventory until the toon has finished act 10. Last edited by teodar1987#6707 on Jul 19, 2021, 10:01:55 AM

" you shouldn't be able to trade until maps. i think the chinese client has had that restriction as a compensation for the better trade system. age and treachery will triumph over youth and skill!

I dont know that restricting trade in that way would make a difference. Sure your first run per season would still be gated by 'whatever level or content needs to be cleared to unlock trading'; but that still ultimately creates the same problem since any secondary characters you run will have access to your stash already.

As someone who levels many alts during league I too concur that the campaign is too long. There should be some type of skip available (if you've completed on one character) at that point it should be an option to go through the whole campaign again.

" Well, from your perspective, this is a perfectly valid complaint, imo. I would love to not have to do this every league for multiple characters. However, if you are a new player, you won't know the campaign any other way. Nor will you know the old flask system, or feel the 20-40% nerf, etc. I think GGG is looking to making these changes to also change their player base. It gives the new players a new base game meta so they are used to more of the same as GGG continues to make it harder and longer with less and less power creep over time. It should be clear, by now, that GGG wants this game to slow down both in speed and in damage numbers. They are certain to lose a bunch of players over these latest changes but it helps set up long term plans to do more of the same by exposing the new players to this slower, harder style of play. GGG can maintain this, going forward. They can NOT maintain the game in it's current state. This isn't about nefrs or taking away things people like. imo. It's about setting up the game and it's player base for something GGG feels like it can maintain. They absolutely know they will lose players over this. But I'm willing to bet they think it's worth the tradeoff to set up the new players coming in with they way they plan to build this game, going forward. |

If you take a look at PoE from new player perspetive, you get a pretty good experience for 15-30 hours just to finish the campaign.
First fresh league char takes me 8-10 hours to get to maps, but second + characters I tend to keep the pace of 20 minutes per act. Having some breaks and doing labs, 4 hours is time from A1 to maps. Sure, if you look at it from perspective "what else I could be doing in 4 hours in PoE" it is massive waste of time where I could farm couple exalts , progress further my atlas etc, but I guess that's a tradeoff for being altoholic. If you take 1 hour per act while being experienced with the quests and not reading anything you don't have to, I am not sure what you are doing. Especially on softcore where you can just burn through content content through dying and going glass cannon. I represent only myself, my own thought and believes.
