I suppose that Raider might be only class that will be effectively able to use ward without hundred ex or mirror tier investments, because with the evasion chance bonuses she gets from Onslaught ascendancy line, she can cap evasion for 90%+ time using Kintsugi, Wind Dancer and Stibnite flask while still leaving some gear slots for ward.

Yeah, I also think of Raider when I read about Ward, though Trickster may be an alternative, as some unique items let you scalw ward with ES nodes on the tree. We'll see. As I've said, it all depends on how much ward you can "easily" get, and how much cooldown reduction you can get on it.

I have not watched the videos, going only from the little info provided in text form on website. Scaling Ward with ES nodes is interesting but...ES and ward compete for the same source. And the moment you invest in ES and get decent ES leech, Ward simply becomes the inferior choice by default.

Understand me correctly here; I would NEVER use Ward on a pure ES build. I would still focus on Evasion+Dodge+Ward, but scale ward a little bit through Trickster and dual ES+EV nodes on the tree. A Trickster doesn't always need a lot of ES for the Ghost Shrouds to be effective, only high EV. But hey, it's a longshot/niche example. Assassin and Elusive+Dodge scaling might also be an options.

Of course, I'm stretching a little bit here. And I'm absolutely not calling Ward "strong". I'm calling it "another layer in certain situations".

My point is that if you start actually using ES nodes, then it seems it will always be better to use ES as base rather than Ward.

And you may very well be correct. It all depends on the amount of Ward we'll see on items.

Personally I am going to try this with a max block build
