Explosive Concoction Damage Calculation Question.
" The difference is that skills like Ice Crash, Cyclone, etc. are primarily designed with weapons in mind, so balanced around already having a certain amount of flat DPS on your weapon, and then the bonuses granted by the current Unarmed uniques are meant to counteract that gigantic penalty of losing the flat DPS from your weapon slot. Hopefully I'm not too much of a broken record as I mentioned this in the other thread about Concoction here, but essentially the devs had a design choice. Do they pigeonhole players into choosing 1 of the 3 Unarmed scaling Uniques if they want to deal any more damage than a tickle? Or do they make a skill that can be reasonably used with any Gloves slot? Or do they make it viable without the Uniques, and insanely overpowered with the Uniques? The third option was never going to happen because obviously overpowered options aren't good design. So, out of the first two options, they chose diversity in Gloves slot at the cost of killing the fun of players who happen to know about the 3 Unarmed Uniques and wanted to leverage synergy with those items. This enables players who don't know about or don't like the 3 Unarmed Uniques to build around Concoction, with more options available to them. Was that a good design choice? Will they keep it?
