Maven: The Forgotten, where is the degen coming from?

I fought The Forgotten yesterday and experienced a source of degen that ended up killing me. I know it's not ignite becoz my build is ailment-immune and it's also not bleeding/corrupted blood becoz I popped a staunching flask and the degen continued. It's probably not chaos damage also becoz my ES completely depleted before I died. I popped a Blood of the Karui but still ended up dying.

I have a few question:
- What is this source of degen and how do I stop it?
- When I popped Blood of the Karui, the degen was stronger than the regen, but I was expecting to go full life at the end of flask effect, but that didn't happen and I died. Is that intended or a bug?

IIRC the humanoid looking one has some degen ground it puts down. Should be obvious as a void zone though.

I am pretty certain that it is not a ground effect becoz as a summoner, I run around *a lot*. The concern I have is that for all the degens that I know of, there are usually mitigation, such as staunching, dousing and curing flasks. In this case, I dunno what mitigation is available. Also, it seems to me that the Blood of the Karui flask doesn't work as expected.

Well running around a lot when the screen is cluttered with degen pools you don't see/aren't aware of can actually cause the problem instead of solving it. The encounter doesn't have any special degen mechanics to be aware of. At least none that i know of. I know one of them causes burns, i am not sure any of them can cause bleeds/cb in a meaningful way. Can't recall ever having any in those fights. If neither bleed immunity nor ailment immunity helped then it was most likely you running over a bunch of degen grounds you didn't see.

While spining, it can hit multiple times like DOTs damage. As you can see in video.
