hungry loop for AG...
here's my build https://www.poe-vault.com/guides/ultimate-raise-spectre-necromancer-build-guide
i currently have my AG set up in my gloves i was thinking of moving AG into a hungry loop that i'm currently in the process of setting up so, lvl-20 elemental army, lvl-3 empower, lvl-20 minion life, and something else i'm not sure of in the hungry loop with AG socketed. first, what would be the better combo here? something like meat shield puts my AG close to me and not with the spectres which do the main damage. second, i'm not asking for in-depth explanations, just basics for recommended combos and why. i don't know much about gem combos and what works with certain gems to get the best outcome. but i want to run meat shield on my zombies so they, become my meat shield while not affecting my AG for personal survivability. poe is going down fast. Diablo 4 and Baldur's Gate 3 have no performance issues. play them instead Last bumped on Jul 15, 2021, 10:22:03 AM

You'd be much better off putting AG in a +minion lvls helm or something. I haven't looked at the build link, but I'd be willing to bet it suggests this as well. Levels are a really big deal for AG.
If you want to use a Hungry Loop, use it for the zombies. Or golem. Or skellies. Or anything other than AG. I have a pretty good sense of humor. I'm not German.

" this is exactly what i wanted to know. so, scratch AG in the ring. now, if i were to put vaal skeletons in it, what would be the best gems combo? poe is going down fast. Diablo 4 and Baldur's Gate 3 have no performance issues. play them instead

my plan now is to put empower, meat shield, elemental army, minion life, and put my zombies with it and run vaal skeletons in place of my zombies in my gloves. thanks for advising me against putting AG in the ring :)

Nothing wrong with vaal skellies generally speaking.
Just keep in mind that you can spawn the melee general with his anger aura. If that happens, your zombies might very well deal more fire dmg than any other ele dmg and thus apply fire exposure via elemental army. Another tiny details to think about is that if you are fighting a single boss w/o ads then there isnt enough space for all melee minions to get close enough and actually hit the guy and instead walk around aimlessly. Thats 2 scenarios in which having vaal skellies plus zombies is less powerful, potentially even detrimental, for your overall dps output than simply not having either vaal skellies or zombies at all. You´ll have to test it anyways, but I wouldnt be surprised if the overall performance with just one out of the two minion types was actually better. If thats the case and you are going for Devouring Diadem over a real minion helmet with not just + minion gems but also rolled minion support gems, then your zombies might just die in sticky situations. Even if the zombies arent sitting in the helmet, a minion life support gem rolled onto the helmet would provide global minion life and zombies arent that tanky if you dont heavily invest into them. Personally I do prefer vaal skellies plus a from dust jewel allowing me to summon pretty much all skellies with just one click and have them block enemies if need be. Especially if Im reserving most of my mana I dont really like summoning mana intensive zombies at all - granted that this is a non-issue if you do run Devouring Diadem. I do prefer a real minion helmet tho especially if Im running an expensive AG. Dead Zombies are inconvenient, a dead AG can hurt you wallet quite a bit. And w/o Devouring Diadem summoning Zombies en masse goes from inconvenient to pain in the ass :D |

" thanks for the input. i am running for the auras. the zombies in the build are just for def mainly but do some damage. i'm just adding the vaal skeletons so i can put meat shield on my zombies in the ring which frees up the socket for the skeletons. i currently have skeletons in one of my rings while i'm levelling gems and building the ring for testing them out and they seem to pin bosses in place, attacking, while my slave drives hammer it with lightning. during the testing, without skeletons boss health goes down pretty fast and goes down faster with them. maybe i'm out in left field doing this but won't really know till i get it done. if it don't work, it's as easy as swapping back my original ring and a couple of gems poe is going down fast. " Why do you feel like you need to link so much on your AG? A +3 on the AG from an item and 21/20 Divergent AG is enough to make him unkillable pretty much. Using so many links on your AG is just a waste of socket slots imo. Kingmaker was like 70 chaos in Ultimatum so losing him didn't even hurt if you did. Keep him in your gloves. Link him with your Zombies, feeding Frenzy and Elemental Army. Hungry loop is a very poor choice to run imo. You lose alot of potential stats from the ring. |
