Yeah well, you´re wrong here, as I did middleman-services before and would consider myself trustworthy. I have never stolen a single damn chaos orb in this game, as thats just not how I enjoy making currency. It´s a personal value. You don´t have to believe it. But its true, I handled Items worth in the 2 digits of mirrors and didn´t even bother to look at them properly - its not my property so I have no agency over it, period.

That being said, I totally forgot about House of Mirror or Mirror-Shard trading and will fully agree, that those are even more safe in the sence that there is no middleman needed at all.
