Anyone have a lot more fun when not dealing with map mods?

running shaper or uber elder feels so clean and enjoyable even if you're underpowered cuz they aren't plagued by map mods.

I'm running a build where I can't handle hexproof / no regen / ele immunity maps - hitting those mods is constant and its ANNOYING.

I waste so much time rolling over them then getting low quant then roll and roll and roll. or I try to corrupt some juicy maps and hit those shit mods over and over.

I just want to kill monsters and get loot not micromanage stupid map based bullshit lol. If we could pick 3-5 map mods that NEVER roll it would make rolling maps so much smoother and more enjoyable.

those moment, when you already made it to more than seventy percent of the exp bar and try to avoid doing hard red maps, you get in the map. You make one shot and the hit you get makes you a rotting corpse. Reflects any dmg, but you did not read it.
Then I hate it. But mostly I avoid the reflects, no regen etc mods. To get the atlas complete and run all red maps corrupted to make it real, sometimes mods are not shown like unidentified corrupted. These are those moments.

But without the chance to roll the maps and get them juicy, it would be not fun. When I want to be safe, I even run the maps with quantity in white.
Yep.
Thats why in last league I made lvl 100 in t15 bh's.

No mods - no cry.
Why don't you just go play Diablo 3 at this point, if you want so much baby-ing.
It's easier yeah, but the rewards are crappier too.

pretty sure thats possible when rolling maps with fossils.
It's part of GGG's Grind design strategy. They want you to have to waste currency on re-rolling maps. If I roll a map with a mod I can't/won't run I just dump it in a tab until I have a good quantity, then I sell them to a vendor. I either get an upgraded map through the 3 maps recipe, or I get a piddling amount of currency. What I really get though is time which is where the game is actually won. Don't piss about re-rolling maps as it's a waste of time and currency.

They could also easily get rid of 50% of the maps in the game. So many are either similar or are just shit design. What's the crappy dungeon one with all the dead ends and poor layout? I run it once to check it off and then never go near it again.

What I really hate is the endless ways that GGG came up with the same idea and kept implementing it. Watchstones on top of Maven plus scarabs plus Sextants ad nauseum... what a tiresome hamster wheel.

Efficient game design would be three tiers of maps, white, yellow and red (not sub-levels within those) with already sufficient pack size to make it worthwhile plus a Maven like adjustor to tailor maps to your preferred playstyle. Everything else is just a time thief mcguffin.

Look, I get it. There's a bunch of players out there that love this grind and find it rewarding, but there's also a large contingent of players out there that hate it and find it dissuades them from playing the game. I guess that's the nature of the internet though, can't please everyone!

Awakened PoE Trade has a function that reads your map and makes it easy to read the mods.

Furthermore you can mark certain mods in colors - Red, Yellow and Green.

So I usually mark the onces that I can't run in red, damage mods in yellow/less resistance etc.

And "free mods" that don't have any impact on you in green.

Makes it easy/fast to roll maps and read them.

That does sound like a sweet feature. I just can’t bring myself to try it because I’ve read posts of people being banned for using it. Not worth the risk.

GGG should adopt that feature though. That would be some nice QOL.
Thanks for all the fish!
